"You and I will never be in the same faction," Peter says to Tris, then goes back to fluffing his pillow.

Got anything to say to me? You feel like snapping at him, but you hold your tongue. Maybe Drew acted on his own, or maybe Peter is too scared to talk to you. Either way, your bed is fine and so are you.

You help Al and Tris change the sheets.

"Ignore him," Al says, stripping the stained sheets. "He's an idiot, and if you don't get angry, he'll stop eventually."

"That's right," you say, pulling over the pillowcase, convinced that you're doing the right thing. They talk about Will, the first jumper thing, but you're not really listening. The second round of fights is any minute now, and, as people trickle out of the room, you wonder who you'll be facing.

Peter finishes fluffing his pillow, then makes a face at you. "Quit watching me, Amity."

You hope it's not him.

Advance to 53.
