Beatrice jumps, screaming, and there's a sound like a trampoline.
"First jumper!" someone yells from below. "Tris!"
There's a ton of cheers. Peter's face purses in concentration. Christina looks like she's gathering courage. Now that you've seen it's safe, you run and jump next.
"Whoo!" you cheer, your stomach dropping as you tumble down. Your head hits a net, and your body flies up in the air. Someone with deep blue eyes helps you off.
"Welcome to Dauntless," he says, helping you off the net, and you can't help but laugh.
Dauntless.
