"Hey, Y/N, want to join us?" Christina asks, beaming at you.

"Sure!" You say, plopping down with her, Tris and Al.

"Do any of you remember taking classes with me?" Christina asks, pushing her peas around on her plate. "I remember Math with Al, and I think Will's in my history class- know-it-all, hard to miss- but all Abnegation looks the same to me. Sorry, Tris. But Y/N, I don't think I ever saw you..."

"I don't think we had any classes together this semester," you lie smoothly, forcing a smile. A ball of prickles rests in your stomach. I wish I didn't have to lie to you.

Christina shrugs, snapping her fingers at Tris. "Hey, Tris. You in there?"

Tris jolts back into reality.

"Sorry, am I being rude?" Christina says, turning redder. "I'm used to just saying whatever is on my mind."

Will- the boy you talked to about the Cliff the first day- taps the table. "Can I sit here?" he asks.

"What, you don't want to hang out with your Erudite buddies?" Christina asks, a fork hanging from her hand.

"They aren't my buddies," Will emphasizes, setting his plate down. "Edward and Myra are dating, and I would rather not be the third wheel."

Tris's eyes drift over to the other two, sneaking a kiss two tables away.

"Do they have to be so public?" she says uncomfortable, and you all laugh.

"Your Abnegation is showing," Christina jokes, nudging Tris. "The rest of us are all right with a little affection in public."

"I guess I'll get over it," Tris says dubiously, eyes still drawn to the two.

"Or you could stay frigid," Will says, eyes sparkling with mischief, and Christina throws a roll at him. "Hey! It's endearing. Come on, she's all red."

Tris flushes more, but then she laughs, and we all laugh together, grinning.
