Y/N

It'd been just three days ago since Louis Partridge asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend.
We have yet to tell anyone; not sure why we're keeping it a secret. I assume it's just that we're still trying to get used to it. I plan to tell everyone today, though.

"Louis?" I look up at him, taking my eyes off my cup of coffee with the steam filling the air between us with complicated swirls.

He insisted we go on a date to the café. I have to agree, it is a very nice spot to go with a partner. Especially when it's raining—which it is raining at this very moment—the lights are dim and the slow soul music in the background plays as the deep aroma of coffee being made, fills the air. Plus, it's not noisy at all. A perfect place for Louis and I to make random lives for the strangers around us, which we had been doing the past few minutes.

"Yes, love?" He looks up as well, his dark eyes meeting mine, making a sweet tension form between us.

"I'm planning on telling everyone the news today." I tell him. "By everyone I mean, my dad, brother, sister, Caleb, your parents, your sisters? Is that okay?"

"Of course. How about we tell them together? Well, obviously we have to tell them together, it'd be weird not to."

I smile and look out the window in between us. "I think it's time we should go home. It's pouring even harder outside now."

"Alright let's go, I'm finished with my tea already."

As we step outside, the rain immediately hits the top of our heads. We were careless to bring an umbrella, of course, but it's fun to get drenched in rain sometimes.

The closer we get to our houses, the more I want to tell our families the news, but the more nervous I get. They would be happy when we tell them, right? They have to be.

If not, that's okay. Because everyone has their own opinions. I'll just have to accept that!

"You okay?" Louis asks, noticing me fidget around with my fingers.

I stop and look up, seeing that we're in front of my house. "Uh," I put my hands in my pockets. "I think it's best to tell them right now, just to get it over with. I'm just really nervous, you know? And I'm sorry if I seem a little weird about all this, I-"

"Anything you want, lovely." He smiles sweetly at me, making my heart melt inside of me, just like an ice cream a toddler dropped on the concrete on a hot August day.

-

After spreading the news to both our families, I was content. It went well! They were all very supportive, especially my dad. Noah wasn't surprised, he just said, "Oh cool. It seems like my prediction was right after all."

I walk back into my room and open one of my windows a tiny bit, letting the sound of the rain outside fill the silent space. After lighting a candle on my desk, I lie myself down on my bed and stare at the ceiling, sighing.

I close my eyes for a few seconds then open them again, picking up my phone.
Scrolling through Instagram, I get a text message from Maya.

Crap, I never ended up texting her back since I went straight to sleep when I got here.
