"Wake upppppp." I hear the annoying voice of Carter. I groan and throw a pillow towards the door where I think he would be standing. "Hey, no throwing pillows at me, it's Christmas!" He sounds like a little kid when he says this which causes me to roll my eyes.

"I'm up, I'm up." I groan at him. After he left the room, I changed into a red and white Christmas sweater and some maternity jeggings. I ran my fingers through my hair and called it good because I was too lazy to do anything else.

Before I leave the room, I slip socks on since it's most likely cold. I walk out to find my mom cooking the normal Christmas breakfast and my dad and Noah busy with setting up the extra tables. I guess they started a tradition to have their meals at our house before I was born and they've kept it up since. Now it's harder because the families have grown and they all don't fit at just our table. Now we have to set up extra folding tables and chairs to fit everyone.

It also means that when everyone gets here later in the day for the lunch, our house is packed full of people and gifts. Even though it is complete chaos, I wouldn't change it. I like being around all my family, and this year Wes and his father will be joining us.

Speaking of Wes, I hear a knock at the door. I go to open it and see both Wes and his dad standing there. They both hold a dish of food and Weston has a bag of I'm guessing gifts at his feet. "Merry Christmas, Wes, Mr. Barrett." I say and step aside so they can come in.

"Merry Christmas Blakelynn and please just call me Robert." He says to me and I nod. I walk them to the kitchen where my mom takes both their dishes and places them in the fridge.

This was supposed to be a bonding thing since Wes and I are together. My parents wanted to meat his dad, or at least my mom did, my dad didn't want much to do with him since he put Wes through a lot. My mom had told dad to be on his best behavior or she wouldn't let him touch her for a year. That made him want to be nice to him.

"The food is almost ready. It's great to meet you Robert." My mom says and shakes his hand.

"It's nice to meet y'all as well. I can't thank you guys enough for everything you did for my son. I'm so grateful he found people who cared for him." He says and opens up this conversation that will probably draw my dad to like him better hopefully.

"We think of him as another son and are just happy that he treats our daughter so well." My dad says.

"I still can't thank you enough for protecting him and welcoming him into your home. I was a horrible parent and I know that but I'm really hoping I can make it all up." He says and my dad nods. I can tell he's more comfortable with him being in the house now.

"The breakfast is ready." My mom states as she starts setting it all on the table. My dad sits at the one end and Weston's dad sits at the other. My mom, myself and Weston sit on one side while Layla, Carter and Noah sit on the other.
