I had just finished getting ready when there was a knock at the door. Good timing I thought as I opened it. It was Carrie. I grabbed my keys and bag and we headed out to my car.
"So have you got your dress yet?" Carrie asked me 5 minutes into the journey.
"Well, I've found the perfect dress but it's got to be taken in. I've got to go collect it a week before the wedding." I replied.
"Oooo whats it like?"
"I've got a picture on my phone. I'll show you when we get there."
We talked about wedding stuff for the rest of our journey.
Soon enough we pulled up outside the gates of Harrifield house. I typed in the password and waitedfor the gates to open. When the gates had fully opened we drove up the very long driveway, fields and trees flashed passed the windows. I love long driveways. It's kind of suspenseful, like you don't know what's at the end.
Once we reached the end of the drive I parked the car and we got out.
"Wow, It's beautiful." Carrie, who had never been here before, said as we stood outside Harrifield house. She was right., It truely was beautiful. It was an old Victorian building with stunning architecture. It was completly symetrical and had a sandy gray walls. The windows were large and square with gourgeous cream curtains with the occasional baby blue flower.
We knocked on the front door and 10 seconds later a lady opened the door.
"Hello Evie. Alex not with you today?" The lady asked
"Hello. No he's working." I replied
"Oh. Hello, I'm Elizabeth. My husband and I own the house." She said to Carrie
"Hello, I'm Carrie. I'm Evie's friend." Carrie replied
"It's nice to meet you Carrie. Shall we start on the food tasting?"
She led us into a big hall. A gorgeous chandelier hung from the tall ceiling. Paintings were positioned across the cream walls along with a fancy mirror adding character to the room. A long table stretched across the centre of the room, various dishes spread out over it.
Soon enough we had finished trying all the dishes. It was very hard to pick but weeventually went with prawn cocktail for starter followed by steak a la carte for mains followed by lemon meringue pie for desert.
We thanked Elizabeth and started the drive home.
"Do you fancy going for a coffee?" Carrie asked
"Yeah, I’d love to!" I replied
We dropped the car off and got the tube to the nearest Starbucks. I mean have you tried driving through the center off London at rush hour!
Once we arrived at Starbuck we ordered our coffees and chose a table. We had just got talking about Carrie’s next YouTube video when her phone went off…
