EVIE'S POV

1 MONTH TILL THE WEDDING

The wedding plans were a go! Every day we would be busy doing something for the wedding, it was impossible to sit down and relax. I occasionaly got distracted thinking about Dougie, I hadn't seen him since he let me stay over (which was a month ago). I often wondered what he was doing. Maybe he was recording a new song or having a photoshoot or just hanging out with his friends. Oh how I wish I had time to see my friends.

"Which ones?" Alex asked taking me away from my thoughts.

"Hmm what?" I asked completly oblivious to what was going on.

"Which flowers?" He asked again gesturing to the two bouquets of flowers in his hands.

"Oh umm that one." I decided pointing to the bouquet with cream roses and green leaves.

"Good choice." The flower lady said writing down something on her notepad.

I was so knackered from all this wedding planning, I just wanted a break. I stared out the shop window looking at the passers by.

"Evie... Evie." Alex said poking me. Ugh why do I keep getting distracted. "Are you okay?" He asked. Wow I don't think I've ever heard him say that before. "Yeah i'm fine."

"Good, I think that's it for the day." He said as we walked out of the shop. "Did you want to go out for dinner later?"

"Oh yeah sure." I mumbled as we climed into the car.

It was dark when we got home so I went upstairs to change into something more fancy seeing as we were going to some posh restaurant.

"You ready?" Alex shouted up the stairs.

"Yeah just coming." I said grabbing my bag and heading down stairs. He stood by the door in a shirt and jeans, his coat slung over his shoulder. He took my hand as we exited the house and headed to the tube station.

"So not long ey." He said breaking the weird silence. We'd been together for what 4 years and we still found it difficult to come up with conversation on a date. Well somethings never change. I couldn't help but think if Dougie was here he would have cracked some joke about something by now and we wouldn't be stuck for conversation.

"No. Seems like only yesterday you proposed." I said looking around the dimly lit restaurant hoping the waitor would deliver our food soon. Alex proposed on a dinner date much like this about a year ago. Obviously I said yes. At the time is was the probably the best evening of my life. I couldn't imagine any feeling better as he slipped the ring on my finger and pulled me into a kiss.

"Sorry I have to go away end of next week." Why did he have to remind me.

"Oh yeah, remind me why you have to go again."

"Oh right umm business stuff." Right.... business stuff... "Look I really am sorry. I'll be back before you know it."

I twiddled my engagment ring around my finger. I imagined I'd be more exited for my wedding seeing as it's just under a month away, don't get me wrong I was exited I just thought I'd be more excited than I am.

"It's okay. Just don't be late back!" I joked

"Oh I won't, believe me!" .

"Excuse me, Madame, Monsieur, dinner is served?" A rather posh waiter said bearing 2 plates of food.

"Thank you." I said as he placed the plates of food down in front of us.

"Enjoy your meal." He said politely before walking off to attend to another table.

I tucked into my spaghetti carbonara as Alex tucked into his ummm I'm not sure what it was. I think it was a crab. I laughed as Alex cracked some joke about it being Mr Krabs from Spongebob or something.

Hmm I wonder what Dougie was eating for dinner- Wait! Stop thinking about Dougie for gods sake!

I pushed the thoughts of Dougie to the back of my mind. This was how it was meant to be. Alex and I, laughing as we enjoyed a lovely dinner date together a month before our wedding.

Sorry this chapter was a bit boring but I felt there wasn't much Alex/Evie action so I thought I'd give you an insight to what a normal date would be like for them and all the wedding plans and stuff.
