I walked through the streets of London, my fingers and toes numb. My cheeks stung from the tears and snow had begun to fall around me. Right now there was only one person I wanted to see. The only person who could cheer me up and make me smile when I was feeling down, in a heartbeat.

I quickly wiped away the tears as I walked up the steps to Dougie's house. I knocked on the door and waited for it to be answered.

"Oh hey Evie." Dougie said as he opened the door. "Wait, what's happened? Hang on, come in, you must be freezing."

"Thanks." I said as he ushered me in. I sat down on the sofa as he made us a cup of tea each. "So, what's happened?" He asked setting the teas down on the coffee table.

"There was an article in the newspaper about us.. Alex got angry at it... we had a fight." I said feeling the tears welling up in my eyes

"What article?" Dougie asked. I reached into my bag and pulled out

the newspaper I brought on the way.

"Oh." He said skimming through the article. "But you only kissed me on the cheek?"

"I know."

"So what actually happened with Alex?" He asked.

"What a dick!" Dougie exclaimed after I finished telling him what happened. "Did you want to stay here till he comes to his senses?"

"Yes please." I said hugging him

"Ok i'll go make up the spare room for you."

"Thanks Doug, let me help you."
