Lyle has been gone for about 36 hours and it’s been hell. I miss him so much it hurts. I leaned back against the counter in Throwback’s Bakery bored and missing Lyle.

“You okay?” Eddie smirked at me.

“Fine I guess.” I grumbled.

“What’s on your mind?”

“Nothing.” I sighed. “Don’t worry about it.”

“What’s with the cold shoulder all of a sudden?” he huffed. I gave him a strange look and just decided to go with the truth.

“People have been telling me to stay away from you.” He frowned.

“Well…don’t.” I stopped and looked up at him. “Be a rebel.” He smirked.

“Don’t do that.” I laughed.

“Don’t do what?” he chuckled leaning into me.

“Flirt with me.”

“Why? It’s harmless.”

“It’s not harmless.” I smiled.

“You’re eyes are so pretty.” He whispered moving my hair out of my face.

“Eddie.” Ryder said clearing his throat. “Bridget wants you.” Eddie turned to glare at Ryder but stayed where he was.

“Can’t you see I’m busy?”

“Eddie.” I whispered patting his chest. “Just go.” He huffed and walked towards the book store.

“Be careful around that guy. He likes you too much.” Ryder grumbled.

“Don’t worry about me I can handle myself.”

“I’m not worried about you, I’m worried about Lyle. If he saw that he might end up storming in here and starting a fight. Then people would start wondering why he did that when he was only flirting with you.”

“Shut up Ryder, why do you know everything.” I grumbled.

“Because I’m your friend and I love you.” I stuck my tongue out at him. “Do it again and I’ll cut it off.”

“I’d like to see you try motherfucker.” I teased and stuck my tongue out at him again.

“Riley!” I screamed and as he came in and started tickling me.

“Stop!” I laughed pushing him away.

“Oh what was that? Don’t stop.”

“Ryder cut it out!” I laughed.

“Why are you so ticklish.” He chuckled. I laughed and pushed his face away when I heard the phone ring.

“Throwback Bakery how can I help you?” I giggled.

“Riley, you need to come home.”

“Dylan? Why?” I asked confused.

“Cause Tina and I have to go to work and Lyle normally watches River but since he’s at the funeral we need you to do it.”

“What the fuck? You guys couldn’t hire a baby sitter or something.”

“We did, you. Now tell Bridget you have to leave and get over here.” I grumbled and slammed the phone.

“Tell Bridget I had a family emergency.” I mumbled to Ryder.

“No problem.” He smiled and waved me off. I groaned when I walked into the house.
