With every person minute, Y/N felt terrified and anxious at what would happen to her. Zhongli would occasionally come down the staircase to see the girl tied up in the chair. Y/N always stiffened up in fear of what he would do, but every time, the man would simply turn around and go back up.

Night fell, even though Y/N didn't know that as there were no sources of light or openings in the basement. She was slowly going insane although it had only been a couple of hours. Her head felt heavy, and her body ached, yet she didn't dare fall asleep, putting her body and mind in constant torture. Even though it had been quite a while, Y/N still felt unpleasantly damp. She was starving and her mouth felt like sandpaper.

Zhongli appeared once again, yet Y/N didn't react. She just stared blankly at him.

'It's been a while, hasn't it?'

He went over to the chair where Y/N sat. He then began to loosen the knots and untie them carefully. He let out Y/N's arms and legs, then looked up at the girl. Y/N was on the verge of collapsing. Her body hadn't moved for hours and all she wanted to do was go outside on a walk, stretch out, or at least something other than sitting in this basement. 'There.'

Zhongli softly kissed her, then carried her up the stairs. 'Here...'

Y/N looked around. The house was pretty big for just one person, but overall, it seemed like a nice place. It was quite neat, and Y/N felt strangely intrigued as Zhongli took her to the main room. There was a couch against the wall, and opposite that there was a TV on a small wooden table. There was a fur rug on the wooden floor and little ornaments around the windows. Zhongli placed her on the couch, then gave her a glass of water. Y/N's throat was parched and dry, so the feeling of water was satisfactory. She downed the glass then looked up at Zhongli silently.

'It's the Friday right now, which means we have a couple of days to... prepare. How about you rest a bit for now?'

Y/N sat, unmoving. He ties me up for hours and doesn't give me anything until I collapse, and now he's being weirdly nice to me. What's happening -

'There's nothing to be worried about. It's going to be okay. You can't leave, by the way. The door and windows are locked and if you do try to escape, I will be alerted immediately.'

Alerted... does that mean there are people here? Or is he talking about something like wild dogs? Either way, I can't risk getting caught...

'Y/N. I want to remind you; I'm doing this because I love you. Okay? Trust me. I'm doing all this for you.'

Y/N slowly nodded. 'Sure. Okay.'

'Good girl.'

There was a brief silence.

'Zhongli?'

'Hm?'

'I love you.'

Gain his trust.

'Even more of a reason for you to stay, darling.'

Shit.

Zhongli was now treating Y/N with love and affection. At least that's what it seemed to be. He would give her proper meals, better than the food she got at home in fact. He would spend extra time making pancakes laden with syrup and cream or toast with eggs and juice. It was almost as if the pair was just an ordinary couple. Y/N was still scared. She tried hard to please him yet think of plans to do something to leave. A week passed and Y/N had gathered some information.

Okay, so here's what I have so far. Y/N drew out a sheet of paper she had folded up and kept in her pocket. All the information was on there, so she didn't forget, and she'd been gathering notes for a while now. When she slept, she stuffed it into a spare sock so Zhongli wouldn't notice.

1. This place has multiple floors. I can hear noise from above and below me which means I'm somewhere in between. Jumping out a window isn't an option.

2. Zhongli leaves the building at around 7:45 am on weekdays and returns at about 5 pm. On weekends, he stays home all day. (Not too sure as it has only been two weekends).

3. Zhongli has not hurt me ever since the time I was in the basement. He shows what seems to be genuine care for me so far.

4. Since there are other people in the building, they could either be normal everyday people or people working alongside Zhongli. If it's the latter, alerting them for help could be dangerous.

5. Windows are opaque with some blackout glass made into the frame. The door outside this area is locked firmly with a metal padlock. Smashing a window would be too obvious and if I am way too high up to jump, which is likely, I may end up dead.

6. I don't know anything about what's happening outside. I don't think Zhongli is being suspected of anything as no police or anyone similar have shown up that I know of.

That was her list. It wasn't extra detailed, but it was okay, for now.
