- Chapter 20 -

Y/N eyes snapped up to meet his. Master gave a smile to the pair as he walked calmly over to them.

'Did you think you wouldn't realise? Zhongli, I am not stupid. I have already - '

He was cut off as Zhongli drew out a gun from his suit. Swiftly loading it, the teacher began firing at the man.

Master was not expected the attack, yet managed to dodge the bullet. Zhongli continued firing and reloaded quickly.

The pair began to fight, as Master pulled out a gun of his own. Y/N watched in horror for a split second, until she began to run in the opposite direction.

Several people had gathered there. Lisa, Jean, Kaeya, Rosaria, Lumine and two people Y/N didn't recognise. One of them was the mysterious person from the meeting they had earlier, and the other...

'Y/N.'

She couldn't speak. She couldn't process who was standing in front of her.

As the girl began to run out of the area once again to hopefully find a better place to hide, she collided with another person.

'...Diluc?'

'Move.' The man shoved Y/N aside and began to run down to the basement where everyone else was. Zhongli and Master were nowhere to be seen, but Y/N wasn't risking her life to find them. She was instead staring at Diluc with apprehension and fear.

Not him too.

With him were Jean and Ningguang.

What is happening...

Y/N felt a hand grab hers as Ninguang frowned but took her to the basement along with everyone. With the teachers, several people in uniforms were making their way down.

Gunshots. Screams. Blood. So much was going on and Y/N felt the world warp around her in the dim basement. Hazy light blended her vision together and soon everything was spinning. Voices merged into one and echoes reverberated off the walls.

Jean began swiftly shooting at the people in order to paralyse them, yet her aim was slightly off. This was mainly due to - 

'Lisa, why? I trusted you. Why did you have to do all this?'

Lisa said nothing but gave a sweet smile dripping with ego.

'Because, Jean darling, it's for me. I needed this. I do not regret this.'

Jean froze for a split second, then looked at the other adult Y/N had failed to know.

'And you, Albedo.'

Albedo laughed lightly, then turned to the others who were fighting alongside him.

'Stop it. We have lost.'

'We haven't lost.' Rosaria gritted her teeth as she shoved Ningguang out of the way.

Diluc pushed on, frustration and anger painted on his face, as Kaeya began to dodge practically all his attacks.

'I never thought our sibling quarrels would go this far.' Kaeya smiled as he swiftly began shooting.

Albedo sighed as someone clad in uniform chained him with handcuffs and took him up to the main building.

'We have truly lost.'

Albedo's parting words didn't seem to affect the others. 

'It's been a while, hasn't it, Y/N?'

'I expected to see you here.'

'So you figured it out.'

Y/N sighed with exasperation.

'Childe, how could I not?'

'Follow me. Let's have a talk.'

'I'd rather not. Leave.'

Childe sighed. 'Fine then, let's have things your way. You know, I've never lied about anything I've said to you.'

'You've never lied to me.'

'Well, perhaps a bit - '

'Childe, I don't have time for this.'

'Why not?'

Childe grabbed Y/N and she was dragged to a small room, away from the main fight.

'Y/N. He was wrong. Zhongli. Well, not on accident. Xiao isn't a traitor, but I assume you know that? I am, however.'

Childe smiled, then took Y/N's face in his hands. He then hugged her, as the girl froze up in confusion.

'Y/N... I've done so much for you... I've created this plan, just for you. I joined this to get close to you, haven't you realised?'

Childe pressed a kiss on Y/N's forehead.

'I... I've liked you from the beginning, you know? I watched you. I need you, Y/N.'

'Childe, stop - '

'And I need you all to myself now. I've waited long enough. Just surrender to me, Y/N...'

Y/N shoved Childe off of her, but he firmly pressed himself against the girl.

'I love you, Y/N.'

'No, you don't. You really don't.'

Y/N wanted to leave, but she could still hear the screams and gunshots from outside. It would be an instant death out there. The room was small and cramped, but it was thankfully empty. It resembled a small storage room.

'Y/NNN... I don't want anyone else. I just want you. I want you to - '

'Childe. I... liked you before. I really did. But now...'

'Do you hate me? Y/N, don't hate me. I'll... I can kill Zhongli. I'll kill anyone who goes near you. I love you so much, Y/N! I - '

With that, Childe brought his face to Y/N's and pressed his lips onto hers. He wrapped his arms around Y/N's waist, so she couldn't push him off. Y/N's eyes widened with shock, yet the kiss continued.

'I've wanted to do that for so long.' Childe drew back and smiled again. 'See! Y/N...'

Y/N, on the other hand, was speechless. SHe didn't have time to think before Childe's mouth was on hers again.

This time, she pushed him off and kicked him firmly.

'Don't... don't do that. I want you to - ' Childe whined as he took Y/N's hand.

'Y/N, do you love me?'

Option 2 --- 'I can't forgive you. I hate you, Childe.'
