- Chapter 22 -

'Take them away.'

Y/N heard a voice from outside. She slowly opened the door, trying to push Childe out of her mind. For now.

Lisa, Rosaria and Kaeya were being apprehended, along with Master. Defeated looks were pasted on their faces, but Lisa gave one last sinister smile as she got taken away.

Lumine was being taken too, which seemed reasonable enough. Y/N just hoped they wouldn't go too far. Lumine was still quite a mystery, but in the end, it seemed that she was a victim in this too.

Y/N glanced around the room. Blood stained the walls, and Diluc, Jean and Ningguang were getting ready to leave. With them, was a certain brown haired man.

Y/N gave him a look, as he walked towards her.

'It's... all over.' Y/N looked anxiously at the chaos that had occurred minutes before. And Childe's body in the room next to this one - 

Zhongli nodded gravely as he glanced around the room.

'Where is Childe?'

'Oh.'

Y/N slowly walked over to the door where his body was, then quickly flung open the door and looked away.

'I'm so sorry.' Zhongli's eyes were filled with sorrow as he looked down at Y/N.

She didn't have a reaction. She simply stood there, seemingly unfazed.

'Let us... go. I will arrange for everything to be resolved soon. I will make sure this all is fixed.'

Zhongli sighed as he looked at Y/N one last time.

Y/N gave a small nod, as Zhongli shut the door gently.

'It will all be okay. And... I am sorry. Sorry, for everything.'

Y/N didn't have the heart to say anything. She just stood there silently, a blank expression on her face. Finally, she spoke up.

'Right. Let's go.'

And the two of them stepped up to the brightness above.

You can probably tell I've rushed the most of the end, mainly because I got bored and can't commit to anything - 

I originally planned for Zhongli to have a death sentence after the whole thing and then he escapes with Y/N's help, but I couldn't be bothered to add all that tbh

Fun fact the Master guy was meant to be Dainsleif but I didn't really know when to add that. Also he acts nothing like Dainsleif. He wasn't even supposed to exist but I got inspiration from a comment that said something about him😦

Since I got bored near the end I'm not really proud of this but that's mainly because I think Zhongli looks like a cockroach and I don't even like this crusty man😔
