- Chapter 15 -

'Okay, seriously, back to the main topic -'

'It's evidence.' Xiao stated.

'Huh - '

The pair were walking down the corridor, talking pretty quietly.

'Hmm... Y/N, can I...'

'Wait. First, explain yourself. Why did you do all this? I don't...'

'Meet me after school. Near the park.'

'Xiao what - '

'Just... listen to me.'

'Fine, then. But why do you have... his eye? And why are you carrying it around?'

'As I said, it's evidence.'

'Of what.'

'That's not important right now.'

'Whatever. If you don't want to say anything, I'm leaving.'

Y/N left, annoyed at him.

Maybe if she had listened to what Xiao had to say, things would have turned out differently.

The day ended soon enough, and Y/N rushed to where the park was the second the bell rang. She heard Childe call for her, but she ignored him. This was important.

It was still winter so the area was getting dark pretty quickly. As Y/N entered the park, she saw the figure of Xiao near the gate. The girl began walking towards him and as she caught up with him, she opened her mouth to speak. Xiao cut her off.

'I'm sorry.' 

'What do you - '

Y/N felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning around in panic, the blur of a silhouette was the last thing she saw before she was knocked out.

'Mm... Huh?' Y/N opened her eyes as she saw that she was in a room she didn't recognise. Again.

There were thin rays of light coming from the thin windows, but other than that, it was pretty dark. Y/N slowly got up, then began walking around, feeling the areas around her so she didn't fall.

I was... talking to Xiao... and I don't know... why I'm here, so I should just explore, for now, I think? There's no use just staying here, right?

'Oh? You're awake.' A voice startled her. A person was walking towards her, and Y/N stared at them in the dark, trying to figure out who it was. A light flickered on, and Y/N kept staring at the man.

He was quite tall, with long hair that was tied into a high ponytail. He wore several pieces of silver jewellery like rings and necklaces, and he also wore leather gloves. The man was dressed mainly in black, with hints of blue and a symbol on his dark jacket which Y/N recognised. The peacock. Y/N almost didn't notice the eyepatch the man wore, as it was covered by his long hair.

'We warmingly welcome you to this residence. If you can even call it that. We hope you have an amazing - ' 

'Cut that shit out.' A second person was walking towards Y/N. A woman this time. Her short, purple-ish hair was swept across a single eye and she wore countless metal accessories. She wore fishnet tights which were slightly ripped, yet Y/N couldn't tell if it was on purpose or not. Her eyes were narrowed in annoyance at the man. 

'I am Kaeya Alberich, a mere worker in this abode. I hope you have a pleasurable stay here. This person here is - '

'Rosaria.' The woman stated simply, frowning.

'Come on, don't be like this today. We have finally succeeded, have we not?' Kaeya smiled at Rosaria, then looked back at Y/N.

'You can't stop here though. I thought you already knew - '

'Of course, I knew. Anyways, come, Y/N.' Kaeya indicated Y/N to follow him as Rosaria turned around and left the room.

'What is this place? Why... am I here - '

'Shut the fuck up and follow me.' Kaeya gave Y/N a seemingly warm smile right after.

Y/N nodded, scared into silence. She followed the man through the corridors and soon she was led into a room. It was practically pitch dark, with a small lamp emitting barely any light at all in the centre of the room. The only thing Y/N could make out was a single wooden chair in the middle of the room. Sitting in that chair calmly was - 

'Zhongli? Why - '

'Ah, Y/N. I'll take her from here, yes?' Zhongli looked at Kaeya.

'Hmm. Sure, then. Try anything, and I'll get Master to kill you and the girl.'

Kaeya left the room.

'Zhongli! What... what is this? Help me, I don't know who these people are, or why...' Y/N rushed through her words, her eyes widening in fear.

'It's going to be okay. I knew that Xiao was... part of this from the start. However, I must say that I did get a bit bored on the way here.'

'What are you saying. Zhongli, please, I don't want to be here. Can't you talk to them or - '

'I have it.' A new voice made Y/N flinch with surprise. Kaeya entered the room once again and pushed Y/N onto the chair. The girl was too exhausted and shocked to do anything, so she simply watched as Kaeya began tying Y/N to the chair. He secured duct tape over her wrists which were tied behind the chair.

'Why. Why are you doing this. Please. I'll do anything. I just...' Y/N muttered quietly.

'Sorry, no luck there.' Kaeya smiled to himself as she leaned over to Y/N. 

'You're staying here now. Not even Zhongli is going to help you. No-one is. So don't try anything. This isn't like last time. You can't just do what you want all the time.' 

Kaeya picked up the remains of the tape then left the room as if nothing had happened. Zhongli left the room along with him.

Y/N froze in shock. Not like she could move much anyway, due to the bindings across her body.

There was mainly silence, except a weird sound that sounded like a weird echoing. 

What's that - 

The sound was coming from behind her. Y/N twisted herself slightly, trying to figure out what it was. 

And if things couldn't get any worse, she realised that what was hanging from the ceiling not too far away from her, was a body.
