A cold shiver travelled through Kyojuro's body, taking its resting place right in his lungs. It was as if a ice was floating in the air, small snowflakes and icicles the pinochle of deadly beauty.

Rengoku couldn't breathe, nor could he move very well. His limbs were beyond numb, they felt paralysed and stiff; not to mention the sharp aching pain in his throat and chest.

He scened a strange surrounding, and even stranger presence.

At first Kyojuro thought the presence to be Akaza - but the longer he thought about it, the more that idea was thrown out of the window.

Kyojuro wouldn't dare open his eyes. In fact he physically couldn't. It felt as if his eyelashes and eyelids were frozen together, painfully unable to pry them apart.

So he would just have to do with being temporarily blind, it wasn't too bad since he could rely more on hearing and touch rather than sight at the moment.

In the mean time Kyojuro tried to steady his breathing, easing his panicked breath seemed to be more of a straining task that what he anticipated. Albeit he managed anyways, quickly trying to sense if there was any dangers around before trying to move his body.

'Just what had happened?' He wondered while trying to move even his fingers and toes a little. 'Ah... I fell asleep on Akaza. He promised to take me back' Kyojuro's heart dropped when he thought about that.

Did Akaza break his promise?..

Kyojuro quickly shook his head. Akaza wouldn't do that, Kyojuro trusted him. There had to be another explanation. Kyojuro wasn't dumb however, he knew he was in danger, and what was worse he couldn't move at all and his Kantana was most likely still back at the butterfly mansion.

Slowly but steadily, Rengoku had been able to get more feeling back into his limbs - but his incessant shivering never stopped as his body was still surrounded by what felt like a cloud of ice and snow.

Rengoku tried to stay as quiet as possible while moving inch by inch, slowly getting more blood to pump around his paralysed body, thawing the ice which had settled upon his goosebump littered skin.

'This presence is strong... stronger that Akazas..'

Another cold sweat travelled down his forehead, heart rate spiked in slight fear. He had never meet another demon stronger than Akaza before, and the overwhelming atmosphere was suffocating,

Kyojuro was unarmed, half paralysed and blind.

This was bad.

At the moment the pillar could not feel someone else in this cold room he was in, but that did not mean he was even remotely safe.

The stench of death hung heavy in the desolate room like a thick cloud, but it wasn't near as strong as the freezing air though.

Finally Kyojuro could just about move both his hands. The very tips if his fingers felt like they had been stung by a million fire ants, the sharp tingling was almost unbearable.

So much so he let out a pained grunt, throat horse and croaky. He willed saliva to build up in his mouth in order to get the pain to subside a little, swallowing his spit to lubricate his trachea.

As Kyojuro painfully moved his arms, he shakily skimmed his fingers over his face and worked to gently pry apart his eyelids.

Batting away the small specks of ice on his eyelashes, the hashira focused his blurry vision for a second to finally view the room his was in.
