Madison's POV

I sighed and slumped against the railing, watching in boredom as all of the kids rode the ferris wheel.

They pretty much took up the entire wheel.

And I was miserable. Completely bored.

The only thing that could make this night better was the fact that I would be able to get cotton candy later. So that was nice.

Suddenly someone behind me made a noise and I turned around, spotting a woman sprawled on the floor with her purse spilled everywhere.

I got down on my knees and started helping her pick it all up.

"Thank you." She said.

I smiled, "Of course."

We finished picking everything up and stood up.

"What are you doing out here alone? You have friends or family somewhere?" She asked, looking around.

"Family. Up on the ferris wheel. I'm watching." I told her.

She nodded.

"What about you? I don't see anyone." I said.

Usually I don't make small talk with strangers, but I am way too bored.

"Boyfriend. Unfortunately he had to go because of an emergency work call." She told me.

I nodded.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Madison. You?" I asked.

"Lois Lane." She smiled.

"Oh!" I said as I remembered seeing her on T.V. "You work for the Daily Planet, right?"

She nodded.

I heard the ferris wheel begin to slow and I turned around.

Suddenly, I felt someone tackle me from behind and a bunch of gunshots sounded above my head and hit the ground in front of me.

I turned around and saw Ms. Lane on me.

"Red laser." She gasped.

Shoot. Oh, wrong word. Don't shoot.

I saw the laser moving across the ground toward me again and I scrambled to my feet and looked across the fair up into a building and saw a silhouette.

"Run!" Ms. Lane told me.

I turned around and saw that everyone was screaming and running around. The operator at the ferris wheel was nowhere to be seen.

I ran over and ignored Ms. Lane. I grabbed the emergency stop button before setting it to 10 second release.

The people closest to the ground landed and ran out. Ten seconds later, it moved again and stopped for the next group.

I saw the laser again and ducked as the bullets began to tear through the control panel.

I don't know how they found out it was me, but if I don't get away from the fair, someone could get hurt.

Or rather...

I looked across the fair at the silhouette and snapped my fingers discreetly. A version of Superman flew out to it and the shooter immediately backed away from the window.

I turned around just in time to be tackled as Jacob and Laura got clear of the ferris wheel.

"Are we going to die!?" Jacob yelled in fear, his glasses sliding down his sweaty nose.
