Chapter 10: Duo

Superman's POV

"They went to Cadmus." Batman growled.

I sighed.

Moments later, we were landing in front of the Cadmus building, which was eerie and quiet.

"Keep your guard up." Batman warned.

We all walked inside and saw a bunch of creatures, the kids, an extra kid, Guardian, and a scientist.

"What happened here?" I asked.

They looked over.

"We went on a mission, freed Superboy and took down the bad guys." Kid Flash replied with a grin.

"Superboy?" Batman asked.

The boy showed me the kryptonian symbol for stronger together on his shirt. My symbol.

"I'm am your clone." He said.

I narrowed my eyes.

"Start talking." Batman ordered.

Ten minutes later and we had heard enough. Everyone who didn't have a sidekick here left or took Dr. Desmond.

We discussed and came to a conclusion. Not happy.

I walked back over to the kids, who were talking amongst themselves.

I walked up to Superboy.

"I uh, we'll get something figured out for you. I mean, the League will. But for now, we'll need to get Dr. Desmond interrogated and out away." I said.

He stared at me, expecting something more.

I turned around and started to fly away.

"Superman." Wraith said.

I turned around. She motioned toward Superboy who was watching me.

I shook my head at her and went over to Batman.

"Cadmus will be investigated. All 52 levels. But let's make one thing clear-" Batman was cut off.

"You should have called." Flash exclaimed.

Batman glared, "End results aside, we are not happy."

"You hacked Justice League systems, disobeyed direct orders, and endangered lives. You will not be doing this again." Batman said.

Wraith put her head down in shame.

"I am sorry. But we will." Aqualad said.

She looked up in surprise.

"Aqualad. Stand down." Aquaman ordered.

"Apologies my king, but no. We did good work here tonight. Work you trained us to do, together. On our own, we forged something powerful, important." Aqualad said.

"If this is about your treatment at the Hall, the four of you-" Flash was cut off.

"The five of us." Kid Flash corrected, looking at Superboy.

"Batman, we're ready to use what you taught us. Or why teach us at all?" Robin asked.

"Why let them tell us what to do? It's simple. Get on board, or get out of the way." Superboy said.

They all turned and looked at us with confidence.

There was a moment of tension.

And then we were on board.
