Chapter 16: Bored

Madison's POV

"Hi, I'm Artemis, your new teammate." She said.

We all shook her hand and introduced ourselves. More like Batman did, but whatever. She probably knew who everyone execpt Superboy and I were.

"The wall man is here! Let's get this party started!" Wally said, running in with his beach gear.

Suddenly, he tripped and very ungracefully slid across the floor.

I snapped to make it look like my face was straight. Of course, I only needed to change my mouth, since I am in my cloak 24/7 even when I'm in a wheelchair.

You never know if a random Artemis is going to show up or something.

"The wall man huh? What exactly are your powers?" Artemis asked him.

"Uh, who is this?" Wally asked, standing up.

"Artemis. Your new teammate." She said.

"Kid Flash. Never heard of you." He replied.

Oh. This was going to be one of those.

"She's my new protégé." Green Arrow said, stepping forward.

"What happened to your old one!?" Wally asked.

Recognized: Speedy 06

"Well for starters, he doesn't go by Speedy anymore." Speedy said. "Call me Red Arrow."

"That's original." I muttered.

"Roy. You look-" Green Arrow was cut off.

"Replaceable." Red Arrow said.

"It's not like that. You said you were going solo." Green Arrow said.

"So why waste time finding a sub?" Red Arrow asked, "Can she even use that bow?"

"Yes. She can." Artemis said

"Who are you!?" Kid Flash asked.

"His niece." "My niece."

"But she is not your replacement. We have always wanted you on this team and we have no quota on archers." Aqualad said welcomingly.

"And if we did, you know who we'd pick." Kid Flash said.

"Whatever Baywatch. I'm here to stay." Artemis said.

"You came to us for a reason." Aqualad said before Red Arrow could leave.

"Yeah. A reason named Dr. Sarah Roquete." Red Arrow said.

"Robotics and nano expert at Royal University in Star City. Vanishes two weeks ago." Robin said, pulling up data and pictures.

"Abducted two weeks ago. By the League of Shadows." Red Arrow said.

"Woah, you want us to rescue her from the shadows?" Robin asked.

"Hardcore!" Wally said and the two of them did a secret handshake.

"I already rescued her. But they had already coerced her into creating a weapon..."

Blah blah blah. Oops I fell asleep.

I opened my eyes and looked around. Still in the cave, but now I'm in one of the spare rooms.

I huffed and looked at the wheelchair. Stupid wheelchair.

What was the point of a wheelchair if the injury was on my arm? I got off the bed and gave myself a moment to stand up right.
