They parted from each other after hearing the calling bell outside. Karishma went out to check on the new arrival while Haseena looked at the ring which was still on the plate. She took out the ring and after cleaning it, she placed it in her pocket and walked towards her cabin.
After Karishma's proposal the thoughts of abandonment that were disturbing her since the morning, just vanished. The lingering fear of being alone or being devoid of a loved one's affection seems to be disappearing in thin air. The only thought that remained in her mind was the companionship of Karishma for the rest of her life and this thought only, was enough to dissipate her fears.
"Haseena, life is giving you a chance to embrace love once again, don't be hard on yourself, accept that with an open heart and stop being judgmental about it," she thought and made a mental note, not to question the blessings that have been sent towards her by the universe. "Sometimes, it is better to leave everything on time without being worried about the future. I couldn't thank the universe enough for sending a person like Karishma into my life who loves me beyond any limits and is willing to do anything for me," she mumbled. The mere thought of Karishma brought a smile to her face and unknown to herself she was grinning widely.
Karishma peeked into her cabin to let her know that she will be dropping the girl at her home after finding out about the boys who were eve-teasing her. But, upon her entrance, she found a mysterious grin on her face which bothered Karishma a lot. "What could be the reason?" she uttered under her breath. But, instead of divulging in the conversation with Haseena, she just cleared her throat and informed her about the situation, and walked out of the station with a confused look on her face.
Haseena just nodded and tried to focus on work but she couldn't. From the collection of her memories, she landed on a day when she rescued Karishma from some bullies in the college.
Haseena was standing next to the window of the student council room and was looking outside the college when she spotted a huge crowd. She moved around here and there while standing in the window but she was unable to comprehend the happenings downstairs. Pooja, who just entered the student council and was about to move towards her desk, was stopped at Haseena's query.
"Hey! Do you know what is going on there?" Haseena pointed towards the ground.
"I am not sure about that president but when I was coming upstairs, I heard there are a few elite boys who are bullying some girl," Pooja said in an uneven breath as she took some sips of water to calm herself down.
"So, why is no one stopping them?"Haseena asked in an enraged tone.
"You know, How is it in our college? No, one says anything to those rich brats. They can do whatever they want?" Pooja responded in a disappointing tone.
"Not under my watch!" Haseena said, "Why are they bothering this poor girl?" She ran out of the room.
"Don't go, President!" Pooja said, "They might hurt you," and before she could finish her sentence, Haseena was already leaping towards the stairs.
Haseena passed the pool of people and came in the front row. She saw the same two boys who had an argument with Karishma the other day, were bothering some other girl now. Before jumping in, she tried to analyze the situation.
One of the boys said, "Our college's standards are going down day by day, don't they know who they are taking in? Just to fulfill their government vacancies, they are giving scholarships to any lowly middle class."
Haseena heard the murmur of the crowd in agreement with the boy's statement.
As he continued, "She didn't even know how to speak. English to chor hi do yar, is se to Hindi bhi nahi boli Jati, sahi se, pata nahi kya, Amma, Amma, karti rehti hai."
