World War Three - Part two.

- ~ -

"That was just like Hannibal!" Harriet laughed with relief, glad not to be witness to yet another death.

"Just like Hannibal!" Both the Doctor and Lynnette responded at the same time, eyes gleaming with familiar adrenalin.

Rose furrowed her brows, "Hannibal?"

"Hannibal crossed the Alps by dissolving boulders with vinegar," Explained the human male, breathing heavily as he loosened his tie and took a large swig of his whisky, allowing the drink to run down his dry throat.

"Oh," She smiled, raising her glass, "Well, there you go, then."

The other three rose their glasses as well and sipped their alcohol congratulating themselves for their victory but while the battle may have been won the war was not yet over.

As soon as the liquid entered the Time Lord's both he immediately ducked down and his lips curled in disgust, Lynnette found the expression very funny.

"Not one for whisky, huh?" She mused to him.

He looked at the drink, nose scrunching up, "Nah, its smell is super strong and its taste is even worse, I prefer wine to this, much better for my senses."

Lynnette was faintly reminded of the Slitheen's sense of smell and asked, "Do you have a heightened sense of smell, like, is it better than a human's?"

The Doctor nodded, "My hearing and taste are a lot stronger as well."

"I bet you hate spicy food then." She grinned.

He rolled his eyes in a playful manner, "Oh, you have no idea."

It was then that Micky's voice sounded from the phone, "Listen to this!"

"Our inspectors have searched the sky above our heads," It was one of the Slitheen, disguised and talking to the public, "And they have found...massive weapons of destruction, capable of being deployed within forty-five seconds."

"What?" The Doctor mumbled, trying to piece together what their plan was.

"Our technicians can baffle the alien probes, but not for long. We are facing extinction Unless we strick first! The United Kingdom stands directly beneath the belly of the mothership, I beg of the United Nations. Pass an emergency resolution, give us the access codes."
