Rise of the Cybermen - Part One.

- ~ -

"Good morning, Lynnie..." Murmured Rose as she stepped into the kitchen, arms coming up to wrap around her friend's waist in greeting with a sigh.

"Mornin', Rosie," Hummed Lynnette with a chirp, making her friend narrow her eyes in an instant. Lynnette Woods has never been a morning person and never would be, for her to be so active in the morning was suspicious.

She tilted her head, chin resting on the woman's shoulder teasingly, "What's got you so happy?"

Lynnette grinned.

Rose's eyes widened, "Wait, what actually happened?"

"Well," Began her best friend, a smirk spreading onto her face, "I think the Tardis is a bigger supporter of the Doctor's and I's relationship than you are."

"Wait, what!?" Exclaimed the girl.

Lynnette laughed, smug lips peeking out from her mug, "She may have connected our rooms last night."

The girl's eyes widened, "Seriously?"

When her friend nodded, she gasped, "That's amazing! And, for the record, the Tardis is not a bigger supporter of your relationship with me, she just controls all of the rooms."

A gentle hum filled the air, teasing and competitive. Lynnette snickered, "I think she takes that as a challenge, don't you Lovely?"

Another hum.

"She takes what as a challenge? Who's Lovely?" Questioned Mickey, standing in the doorway, fully dressed and ready for another adventure.

"A challenge on who is the bigger supporter of the Doctor's and I's relationship," Mused Lynnette.

Rose jumped up, "Which I am!"

A hum of playful disagreement. Rose Tyler may have had the time vortex running through her veins but the Tardis could best her any day. How would have thought a time machine could be so competitive?

Lynnette snorted, "And Lovely is the name I've given the Tardis."

Mickey nodded, "Okay. Another question, what's that smell?"

"Yeah, I've been wondering that as well," Agreed Rose, she had smelt it as soon as she had walked in. It was sweet, almost like honey and drifted through the air like the smell of freshly baked pastries.

"Oh- that's--" The woman was cut off by a ding, "Doctor, you're breakfast is ready!"

Immediately, the slapping of footsteps echoed down the hallway as the Doctor ran toward the kitchen. Lynnette smiled fondly, she had fallen to sleep at some point, lulled into dreams by the soft tone of her lover's voice and when he woke her up, excitement was on his face. He had nudged, a grin stretched across his lips as he exclaimed he was going to make something from another planet and wanted her to try it.
