Chapter 19 – Getting used to it all.

No One's POV.

Jade reached and brushed her hand through Tori's hair. While she could not see it, the smell and silkiness of it felt wonderful. A second later, Jade couldn't help but feel bad, that Tori had to crawl to get to her.

"You crawled to me. Now I feel like shit".

Tori gave Jade a quick kiss. "I couldn't let you get away from me. That elevator is too slow. You were so upset and I couldn't....I love you Jade."

"I know...I love you too." Jade said before briefly looking annoyed. "DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!"

Before Tori could respond, Jade hugged Tori tightly. "I can't have my angel crawling on the floor." A still emotional Jade said quickly.  Though very happy, she found her emotions flying all over the place.

After a moment in the blissful hug, Jade realized she was acting like a babbling fool. While she didn't mind being a babbling fool for Tori, after all she was in love, Jade wasn't comfortable with such public displays of affections.

Tori noticed that Jade suddenly snapped back to being her normal self. It was nice having all emotional Jade, but suspected the public display of emotion, would be short lived. Tori didn't mind, as she knew that Jade's heart was hers.

Her voice turning serious, Jade said. "Vega. You need to get off the floor. Where's your chair?"

"It's at the top of the stairs and the first step is about 5 feet to your left."

Jade huffed. "You are in a pickle aren't you." Jade slid, so her back was facing Tori. "Put your hands around by neck and hold on tight."

Trusting Jade fully, Tori did as she was told. Then Jade bent over and with her back bent over, lifted Tori up on top of it. Jade appeared to strain under the weight, but made no complaint.

"Ok Vega...Guide me."

"Jade...The stairs are about 4 feet ahead of you. If you angle a bit to the left, you can grip the hand railing. Just walk slowly and you'll find it."

With Tori on her back, Jade slowly made her way to the stairs. A moment later, Jade's feet found the first step and her hand found the railing. Then Jade carefully moved up the stairs, with Tori on her back the entire time. Tori couldn't fully see Jade's face, but it seemed to be tense and strained.

Yet as before, the Goth made no complaint.

"You don't have to..." Tori began to say.

"Shut up." Jade cut her off with a terse reply.

It only took about a minute to get Tori to the top of the stairs, but Tori could tell Jade was starting to strain. While she said nothing else, she was breathing hard.

"Where's the chair?" Jade asked.

"About 6 feet off to your right and a little ahead."

"Jade walked slowly forward, putting her hands out, eventually she felt the arm of the wheel chair. Once there she was able to move around and let Tori gently down into the chair.

Afterward, Jade fell to her knees and seemed to need a moment, to catch her breath.

"You alright Jade? Please be alright?" Tori said, as she put her hand on Jade's shoulder, her voice filled with worry.
