I saw her hair, the dull brown colour that reflected the light and made it stand out rather than itself. I saw her purple coat, the colour of a bruise. I saw her sling, the bland greyish-blue, the same colour as her eyes.
I ran up to her and stepped across her path, facing her.
She looked up at me, her eyes dead, like they were when I first met her; I'd put out the fire I had only just managed to kindle. "I'm so sorry." I said clearly. My hands were on her shoulders, and I wanted to hug her so badly; but I held back.
She didn't reply, attempting to push past. I held firm, my fingers tight. "Please, Olivia, I still love you. More than I can ever love anyone else."
I watched her bite her lip. I watched her hands clenched by her sides. I watched as she slowly looked up at me, her eyes meeting mine. "You said- you promised."
I gently kissed her forehead, and she melded into my arms. I held her close, my grip tight. "I swear I'll never hurt you again."
She trembled. "I'll remember."
