That morning I had work at Chocacino. The pay was low but good enough to buy the small house I got for Olivia and I a few months ago, and I loved my job. I made the base for the desserts, and then Olivia added the finishing touches, made it look pretty and sent it out to the person who plated it, which was what she used to do.

It was good, working with her; we worked the same hours each day, since our jobs were connected.

I was walking to the cafe, Olivia's hand in mine, the breeze in my hair, the sun in my eyes and the spring in my step.

Life was good, I suppose.

Olivia stopped walking suddenly, and I heard her moan in pain.

I spun around and stared at her, hoping a look of worry rather than astonishment was on my face. "Liv? Whats wrong?"

Her face was twisted in a grimace and made the burns stand out. "N-nothing." She croaked, her hand on her lower stomach.

Her hand pulled out of mine and my skin felt cold. "I'll be right in a minute." She glanced at her surroundings and her eyes fixed on a shop across the road, which I couldn't pick out. "You go ahead. I'll follow."

"Liv..." My tone was unsure, and my legs twitched.

She attempted a smile, but it was half-hearted and laced with pain. "Don't worry." She waved her hand in the general direction of the cafe and began staggering across the road and away from me, narrowly missing a red Volkswagen and falling against a lamp post for support. I watched her until she got into the pharmacy and then I started walking to work.
