Chapter 14
Quartz begins traveling through Diglett's cave as the sounds of the Pokemon inside echo through inside
Quartz - "it has been so long since I've been through here.."
Quartz pretty quickly traverses Diglett's cave as he enters Route 2 as he gets a nostalgic feeling he walks through the small part of Route 2 as he enters Pewter City walking through it heading throughs the side the Pewter city Museum with a small tree in the way as Quartz just calls out his Nidoking with him Pointing at the tree with Nidoking in reaction stomps over to the tree grabbing it with its two arms pulling it out of the ground throwing it aside as Quartz continues on walking inside with one of the scientist greeting him
The Scientist - "ah Quartz long time no time"
Quartz - "I know this comes out of nowhere but"
Quartz pulls out Celestes Helix Fossil
Quartz - "You can revive this right?"
The Scientist sighs
The Scientist - "I'm afraid we don't do that anymore we stopped our fossil reviving research here years ago to but if you wanna revive that fossil Gideon has a lab in Cinnabar if you wanna try that"
Quartz - "I appreciate that thanks"
Before Quartz can walk out the Scientist places a Old Amber in his hand
The Scientist - "I kept that just in case you ever came back.."
Quartz places the Old Amber in his bag and turns around to shake the hand of the Scientist
Quartz - "Thanks for being a pal Colress…"
The Scientist - "well of course you have a good one sir"
Quartz - "you too"
Quartz walks out of the Pewter city Museum as Nidoking stands waiting for Quartzs return as Quartz walking tilts his head as Nidoking begins to walk along side of Quartz as they begin walking back along the way Quartz glances at the Pewter city's Pokemon Center clenching his fist
Quartz - "before I continue I need to know.."
Nidoking gives a confused look
Quartz begins to walk inside the Pokemon center as he picks up a Payphone dialing a number calling someone as a Women picks up
Celeste's mother - "hello?"
Quartz - "hey Cheryl.."
Celeste's Mother - "what do you want!"
Quartz - "look I know it's been a long time"
Celestes Mother - "Eleven years is a little bit longer than a long time Quartz"
Quartz - "I know just level with me"
Celestes mother - "just leave me alone Quartz isn't that what you've been doing"
Before Celestes mother can hang up, Quartz grips the Phone is his hand  clenching it
Quartz - "is she mine?"
Celestes mother pauses
Quartz - "Is Celeste mine Cheryl just answer the question!?"
Celeste's Mother - "So how did you find out about her?"
Quartz - "I found her right after Cerulean and after this I'll be traveling with her"
Celeste's mother - "so she's with you?"
Quartz - "not right now no I'm in Pewter she's in Vermilion"
Celestes mother sighs
Celestes mother - "Listen Quartz I'll be blunt because I'm tired and after Ten years of raising that girl myself this is the longest break I've had"
Quartz - "So she's mine then?"
Celeste's mother - "Why do you care?"
Quartz - "Cheryl I'm really not in the mood just tell me!"
Celeste's mother - "yes you idiot of course she's your daughter!!"
10 second pause starts after that sentence between the two
Celeste's mother - "I mean going out not afraid of the world wanting to see what it has and experience it for yourself…she clearly doesn't get that from me so who does that remind you of?"
Quartz stands there as Nidoking grabs his shoulder in attempt to comfort him
Quartz - "Goodbye Cheryl.."
Quartz hangs up the phone slowly with a frozen look on his face as he leaves the Pokemon Center with Nidoking at his side as he looks at Nidoking
Quartz - "remember our first journey I was only 17 and it was around that same time Cheryl and I thought we could do anything…then we lost team members and the elite four pummeled us straight down I couldn't even live with myself.. I still can't.."
Nidoking just stands there understanding exactly how it's Trainer feels feeling the same way
Quartz adjusts his Trapper hat as he sends out his Tangela as it happily jumps out it's Pokeball as Quartz writes a Note handing it to Tangela
Quartz - "Tangela you take this to Celeste because I know you know the way to Vermilion"
Tangela - "Tangela!"
Tangela takes Quartzs note wrapping it around a vine as it runs from Quartz heading out on it's own little Journey as Quartz gives a look to Nidoking
Quartz - "wanna go around Kanto again one last time?"
Nidoking gives a smile as it cries out louder
Nidoking - "King!!!"
Quartz - "after some drinks we'll head back to Vermilion because unlike me she'll become everything she wants to be"
