All the evidence I need is the very look on Evan's face as Victor walks into the room.

Plain annoyance.

"Good to have you back, Buckley!" He leans against the door with his arms crossed. The smile on his face genuine.

Buck snorts in response. "Thanks" he says with an eye roll.

"Yeah no problem. Neuro told me everything looked great. No red flags. You got off easy despite the small concussion and couple of bruises but you'll be out of here pretty soon" Victor looks to Me and Maddie.

Maddie takes in a deep breathe, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Thank god. Oh, this is a miracle"

"Sounds like you've been through a hell of a lot kid" Severide grips Evan by the shoulder. "Glad you're back. Would've been awkward trying to surprise you and you didn't know who the hell I was" Severide laughs and we all join in with him.

This is the first time in a while my heart has felt so full. Watching everyone be here with him, laughing, talking and him knowing who we are.

"Not going to lie I wasn't really expecting your face to be one of the first ones I saw when I woke up" Evan says.

"Hey, at least it wasn't an ugly face" Severide stands up straighter, clearly aware of his own attractiveness. The more I look at Kelly, the more I start to notice it. He is a very handsome guy. Very built, contagious smile, bluest eyes and he's a firefighter. Women must go crazy over him in Chicago I imagine.

"Pfft. Between me and you, we all know who has the prettiest face here" Evan raised his hands, and both him and Severide burst out into laughter.

It feels so good to see Evan this way.

"Umm boys please, everyone knows I am prettier than the both of you" Chimney puffs his chest out, the widest grin on his face.

"Chimney..." Severide starts.
"Chimneyyyyy" Evan joins in.

I catch Victor looking at me from the doorway. He gives me a quick glance before nodding and dismissing himself out of the room once again before I can even manage to throw him a smile.

"Maddie, back me up here!" Chimney throws his hands in the air. Maddie throws her head back in laughter, pulling him closer to her.

"You're the sexiest man alive!"

Maddie presses her lips to Chimney's lips. He smiles in between the kiss, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Wooooaaah Chimney come on!" Evan sticks his tongue out showing his disgust. "That's my sister!"

I laugh and I love the warmth I feel in my chest.

"Yeah, I know" Chimney says, not pulling away from Maddie. "I don't know how I got so lucky with this one."

"Umm I'm gonna check back on Eddie, you two have fun with this" Severide points to Maddie and Chimney who were still in their own little world.

"Can I actually have a moment with Stella?" Evan asks, looking directly at Maddie and Chimney.

They both break out of the spell they were in and look at Buck.

"Of course. Yeah, we'll just be in Eddie's room. Okay?" Maddie says.

I look at Evan, curiosity burning up in my body.

"We'll see you two in a bit" Chimney says, walking out hand in hand with Maddie. Severide taps on the wall before walking out behind them.

"Hey" he says when it's finally just me and him. I can't help but laugh.

"Hey" A huge smile plays on my lips.
