A step in the right direction

Santana: *puts her phone on the dressing table in the room then goes back to sit on the bed*

Madilyn: *can see that Santana's mood has deflated and she knows that san will be overthinking and beating herself up. Madilyn can't let that happen when their little getaway is supposed to be a relaxed and happy environment* talk to me baby? Tell me what your thinking, how your feeling! *speaks with such love and care while she lightly rubs her thumb over the back of Santana's had in hopes that it will calm her*

Santana: *sighs* I dunno! I guess I just feel a little guilty that I can't be there for the kids when they need me! But I also don't want to abandon you for too long and turn into the worst girlfriend on the planet. *mindlessly plays with the fringes on her pjs*

Madilyn: san... *sees san lift her head up to look back at her* you are an amazing grandma for those kinds! I know I have only been in your life for a year but i know in that time you have spent most of the time giving those kids all your love and generosity in the world damn world. They absolutely adore you hun! I promise you that you have done nothing wrong so please don't create a war for yourself. *smiles weakly as san smiles back*

Santana: ...what about you? *looks up at Madilyn*

Madilyn: where do i even begin... *laughs with a smile on her face which makes san smile a little* first of all, you booked us this amazing hotel room for the weekend for just us. No I'm not a gold digger! *both women laugh* I also love and appreciate the time we have together just at our u houses cuddling and watching tv. Or how you always make an effort to send me good morning texts asking how I am and wishing me well when we aren't together! Or when I call you to rant about my asshole of an ex, you never complain! You just sit and listen then after I'm dome with my teenage meltdown, you always know the right things to say to make me feel better! You are everything to me and I couldn't ask for better! *they both smile like idiots as they get lost in each  others eyes*

Santana: Thank you so much for talking some sense into me! *laughs at herself* I'm sorry for getting so into my head like i always do. I know it's not humanly possible to be everywhere for everyone all the time.*smiles as madilyn smiles back*

Madilyn: no need to apologise! I do the same thing *laughs* we need to just work on it and help each other out when things get harder for either of us to handle on our own. Right? That's what will help make this relationship even stronger. *smiles*

Santana: yeah, your right! *smiles*

Madilyn: aren't I always?! *both women laugh at her cockiness* ...come here! *shuffles up to lay on the pillow as san follows and lays on madilyn's chest*

Santana: how about we go out drinking tonight? You know, just to make the most of what time we have without any responsibilities. *looks up at madilyn*

Madilyn: yeah! That sounds like fun. *looks at san*

Santana: alright, Let's go! Gits up and goes over to her suitcase so she can find an outfit* ...what do you think of this one? *holds up a red dress with one strap and a slit up one side of the leg*

Madilyn: that my dear is very tempting! *playfully bites her lips*

Santana: *laughs at madilyn* awesome! I'll go for this one then! *somehow Santana has suddenly gained a lot of confidence in taking the next step in their relationship so she's hoping that madilyn feels the same*

*30 minutes later! Both of them are ready! San was currently losing at her outfit in the Mirror and for the first time she is actually happy because she is finally starting to be proud of her curved*

Madilyn: just walked over to san and hugs her from behind while looking at san in the mirror* you look incredible baby! *kisses san on the neck then looks back at her and they both smile* i think these outfits deserve a pic, don't you think?

Santana: yeah, sure! *smiles as madilyn goes over to the bedside table to grab her phone then she goes back over to stand next to san*

*santana puts one arm round madilyn's waist then rests one hand on her chest and rest her head on madilyn's shoulder. While madilyn's just puts her arm round Santana lover back, holding her close while she takes the picture. In the pic both woman have the biggest smiles on their faces and you can totally see that they were both looking at each other through the mirror so that just makes the picture even more special*

Madilyn: no wonder people stop and stare, giving us looks of disgust. We look cute as hell! *laughs a little because she knows that a lot of the stares are possibly from people who don't approve of Lesbians or anything like that. But they don't think much of it and are just focusing on each other and the special bond they share that is so rare to find in this day and age*

Santana: I agree! *smiles at Madilyn the leans in the kiss her, which gets a little more intense than intended. Neither of them are bothered so they just let it happen for a little while longer*

Madilyn: come on sexy, let's go party! *smiles as she takes san by the hand and leads her out the hotel room onto the street*

*they called a taxi just before they got ready so that was waiting outside for them just as they walked out the hotel*

*at the bar*

*much like Brittany, madilyn had a protective bodyguard like hold on san as soon as they stepped foot near all the drunk people. In that moment san knew that this was just another little moment that she was sure Brittany was looking down on her with pride and satisfaction. She definitely wouldn't let san be with someone that didn't treat her like a queen*
