Taking chances

In a coma

*an hour or so goes by of everyone being in their own worlds. No one felt like speaking because they were all just as scared about what might happen. So they telepathically decide that its best to just stay silent for now*

Doctor Richard: *walks into the room and clears his throat to make his presence known* hello all! My name is Richard and im the one who is helping to look after jasmine and help get her better for you all. *smiles politely as he stands at the end of jasmines bed so everyone could see him*

Santana: hey doc! Hows she doing? *was so scared to hear the answer but she manages to keep her tears at bay for now*

Doctor Richard: *looks at santana with a weak smile* im sorry to have to tell you this but with the loss of blood she dealt with from today, she has slipped into a coma! *feels so bad because he can see the fear in everyones eyes after he said that*

Elliot: *could tell that his grandma was struggling to form a sentence with all her emotions she is dealing with all at once* f-for how long? *looks up at the doctor with a worried look*

Doctor Richard: its hard to tell! It can be a couple of days or maybe a couple of weeks! We just need to keep an eye on her to make sure her heart rate and stuff stays leveled. I promise we will do everything in our power to help her get better. *smiles sympathetically at everyone*

Elliot: alright, Thank you! *smiles politely as the doctor smiles back then walks out to give them time to process everything*

Kelsey: *was very worried about everyone especially santana because with age, comes weakness. there for its kelsey's job to keep her well hydrated and fed* would any of you like something to drink or a little snack of some kind? *stands up with her phone in hand*

Elliot: could i have some coffee please? *smiles up at kelsey*

Carlos: ill have the same as him, thanks! *smiles up at kelsey also*

kelsey: *smiles back at the boys* of course! *looks over at santana and sees that she is still in a world of her own* hey san? *sees elliot nudge his gran on the arm to help get her attention* ...would you like anything to eat or drink? im going down to get some coffee for the boys and and a few snacks for everyone to pick at when they want!

*Santana totally looses her apetite whenever something bad happens so she just shakes her head to show kelsey that nothing has changed. even though she is getting older and more sensative to skipping meals. its really not good for her but like i said, she always shuts down and forgets to take care of herself properly when a loved one is unwell in some way*

Kelsey: *knew this was gonna happen so she doesnt bother fighting because she knows that she just needs to give jasmine a silent nudge by buying something for her and trying to offer it to her later on*  ok, i wont be long! ive got my phone on me incase you need anything while im gone.
*smiles at the boys as they smile back*

Elliot: *suddenly rememebers how he said he'd be the one to update mercedes whenever he heard something.* i better give auntie M a call and tell her whats going on. *smiles weakly at carlos as he is the only one to acknowlege that Elliot said something. While santana comtinues to stare off into space with a somber look on her face. Elliot just wheels himself over to her and leans over to give her a kiss on the side of her head. Then he wheels out the room and calls mercedes, leaving carlos and santana to sit in the silence again*

*on the phone*

mercedes: *picked up after the first ring* hey! How is she? *was very panicked as expected*

Elliot: *takes a deep breath* the doctor told us that because of the amount of blood she lost from her self harming earlier today, it has made her slip into a coma. *lets a tear fall  and takes a shaky breath in and out as he finally lets the news sink in*

MErcedes: *was also trying to swallow the lump in her throat after hearing whats going on* ...as if that poor child hasnt been through enough already. *doesnt want to believe whats actually happeming*

Elliot: yeah... *is so mad at the universe for letting bad things happen to one of the nicest people he's ever known! Jasmine wouldnt dare hurt a single soul.* why the fuck is this happening to her... out of all people on this earth! *sighs deeply*

Mercedes: i know bud! ...i believe she will get through this and shes gonna have the biggest smile on her face when she sees the gift you have gotten for her. We need to just be positive and hope that she can fight her way back to us sooner rather than later.

Elliot: yeah! Thats the messed up thing about this all... the doctor doesnt even know when she is likely to wake up! He says that it can be a couple of days or even a couple of months.

Mercedes: *was really trying to stay positive and think about jasmine waking up ontime for her birthday* shes gonna make it! ...i know she will!

Elliot: *couldnt help but smile at hearing mercedes' optimism* yeah!

Mercedes: i better let you get back to snixx! Make sure she hasnt taken her anger out on carlos and put him in a hospital bed too. *laughs a little as she tries to lighten the mood*

elliot: yeah! Youre right! *laughs a little* ill see you later on when we drop her back off with you.

Mercedes: alright buddy! tell san and carlos i send my love.

Elliot: will do! See ya!

Mercedes: bye!
