Putting yourself first

*couple hours later! It's now lunchtime and jasmine has made an appearance for the first time that day*

Elliot: *was sat on the couch watching tv when he turned to see jasmine walking over to the couch* hey jazzy! How you feeling?

Jasmine: *sat down next to Elliot, resting her head on his shoulder* I'm alright! Just a little tired still.

Elliot: *smiles weakly at jasmine* how about you go for a nap? We can just get some food once you are up and about.

Jasmine: *looks up at Elliot* are you sure? Are you not starving? You haven't eaten all morning!

Elliot: I'm fine! Stop worrying so much! *laughs at his little sister being so overprotective of him*

Jasmine: yeah, you know thats never gonna happen! *laughs a little because she knows how overprotective she is of Elliot but she cant help herself because she just cares about him too much*

Elliot: *smiles at jasmine* yeah, i know! ...it's exactly what I've been like with you ever since you were a baby!

Jasmine: yeah! ...just you and me against the world! *smiles weakly as she sees Elliot give her the same look, knowing they are both thinking about their parents*

Elliot: it sure is! *smiles at jasmine because he was in fact thinking about his parents and how they would love seeing that Elliot and jasmine are looking out for each other even though they are grown up and can easily drift apart to start their own families. But they haven't because they are each other's biggest priorities right now*

Jasmine: *yawns* alright! Im gonna go lay down and rest my eyes! ...if im not up in 30 minutes then come and hit me on the head with a pillow *laughs because she is totally joking but she just likes saying stuff like that because its something that big brothers would totally do since most siblings aren't as close as jasmine and Elliot*

Elliot: *laughs because he knows what jasmine is doing so he just goes along with it* well alright, if you insist! *smiles as jasmine smiles back then wonders off*

*1 hour later! Elliot knew that jasmine only said she wanted to sleep for half an hour but he knew she needed more so he just let her have it since he was having a reasonably good day with low pain levels. He just took some pain killers with his morning pills a little while ago so he wouldn't worry about the pain going through the roof all of a sudden. so he is managing just fine without jasmine*

Jasmine: *woke up and saw that it was almost 2:30pm so she wasn't happy with herself for sleeping the day away when she has responsibilities of looking after Elliot, even when he isn't struggling with high pain levels* hey! I thought you were gonna come and wake me... *walked over to the couch and seen that Elliot was still watching the same program he had been watching all morning*

Elliot: don't freak! I let you sleep because you needed to take time for yourself! Plus, I'm having an ok day and i don't need you running around for me so just embrace it! *smiles sweetly*

Jasmine: fine! I wont fight you! *should have knows Elliot was gonna do this because he is always pointing out to her about how much she does for everyone else and leaves herself for last*

Elliot: *laughs because he knows she wouldn't dare to do anything like that* awe , how kind of you! *smiles as jasmine smiles back*

Jasmine: *sits down next to Elliot* so... you ready for some lunch yet?

Elliot: sure! What you thinking of making?

Jasmine: i dunno! Ill need to check the cupboards to see what the options are.

Elliot: alright!

Jasmine: *smiles a Elliot then goes to the kitchen* how about some spicy nachos? *speaks loud enough so Elliot can hear from the living room that is a few feet from the open plan kitchen*

Elliot: sounds good! Just don't make it too spicy for me. I know what you're like! *smiles as jasmine smiles back before getting all the ingredients out the cupboards and a dish to put the nachos in*

*45 minutes later!*

Jasmine: *carried the nacho dish out the kitchen and over the the dining table that is off the the left of the living room* food's ready! *stands by the couch as Elliot gets himself back into his wheelchair and follows her over to the table* I'm just gonna get the plates and cutlery! *goes back to the kitchen to get what she needs then sits down at the table and puts some nachos on Elliot's plate then sorts her own portion out*

Elliot: *starts to eat his food and is hit with the spiciness of it even though he already put cream on top* this is great! Although it still shocks me every time with the amount of spice you add. *laughs as jasmine just shrugged her shoulders and eats her nachos with ease like there isn't any spice at all*

Jasmine: *i don't know what you are on about, this is the same amount of spice that mum and grandma would use. *smiles sweetly at Elliot as they both continue to eat there food*

Elliot: thats true!

Jasmine: Speaking of grandma... How would you feel about visiting her today? We could take her out for dinner or something just so we can have a catch up since we haven't seen her for a while now.

Elliot: id love too!

Jasmine: awesome! Ill give her a call after we eat so i can give her a heads up

Elliot: alright!

*jasmine did just that and Elliot also sent Carlos a message to say that he would have to fend for himself since they probably wouldn't be back from their time with Santana till late*
