The first morning back from the small holiday we stretched through.
It was eventful, and it was only fair that I updated Callum and Alana on everything, so that's what I did.
Me and Abigail sat on a picnic bench behind the school building on a patch of dewy grass, Callum and Alana in front of us.
"So, we've heard like nothing from you two recently.. you didn't even open the texts we were sending to the group chat." Callum started, I felt the guilt stir up in my stomach as Alana was quick to add to the point.
"Yeah, what's up with that? Did we do something wrong? Cause me and Callum were honestly thinking of doing something over the holiday but you guys wouldn't cooperate, or even acknowledge us."
I looked at Abigail with fearful eyes, she glanced down towards me and smiled slightly.
"Go on, tell us why you've been so distant.." Alana prodded.
I rubbed my hands up and down the black tights I was wearing, taking a breath in.
I obviously felt terrible that I was excluding my two other closest friends, but my mane source of emotion right now was fear, fear for what they would say or do once I told them who I was actually spending majority of my time with this weekend.
I knew deep down that they would be happy for me either way, but this was big, considering I never wanted a relationship months back and made that clear to them, on top of claiming that I would never meet eye to eye with Tae.
I gulped down my nerves and peered up to hold eye contact with them as I spoke.
I had never felt so small as the gazed down at me.
"..well, I've sort of.. been seeing someone." I began.
Both of their mouths dropped, a small curve to Callum's lips as he gasped.
"No you fucking haven't-" he began to respond, but the sound of someone calling my name interrupted him.
"Y/n!" The voice called.
I, along with the others, turned our heads in the direction of the sound to see Kiran, his lousy mash up of creased clothes piled onto him, outgrowing hair beginning to invade his eyesight now.
He breathed heavily as he ran over and pushed me along the bench with the side of his body so that he could get a seat, panting like a dog.
"Are you okay?" I asked, genuinely quite concerned, he was sweating.
"Yeah-...." He breathed, holding up his finger to hold everyone from saying anything so that he could catch his breath.
He swallowed before clearing his throat, "Taehyung got into some sort of trouble but I think it's all a set up.." he started, interrupting himself to catch his breath.
I could almost feel Callum and Alana's confusion as to why Kiran, a guy who as far as they're aware, I only really spoke to at the party then never again, was talking to me, and why he had to fill me in on what the fuck was happening to Taehyung.
But also on that note, it had only been three periods, like three and a half hours since everyone got into school, and Taehyung is already in trouble?
I let myself put the situation into context for a minute, because I knew that it wasn't out of the blue for Tae to get into bother with the school or with other pupuls, but why was it so important that Kiran had to run up to me to tell me.
Was it because he knew about me and him and he thought that now I was in a relationship I had to know everything that happened to Tae? Was that all? Or maybe there's something more behind it...
