Chapter Twenty-six

Carlos was asleep. It was 10 am and Jane was bored. She usually kept to herself in her room until Carlos woke up because Jazzy scared her. Carlos had been really nice to her and had filled her in on everything that was happening without her having to ask. He had been really nice, but she had neglected all that the night before when Jazzy came bounding into the screening room celebrating.

~~~Last Night~~~

Jane and Carlos were having a Harry Potter marathon. Jane had her head on Carlos' lap, him running his hands through her hair. Dude and his two new wolf pups sitting at their sides he named them Luna and Stella. Suddenly the two growled, making Carlos push Jane up and over and jump to attention. Only for them to be growling at Jazzy. The shadow girl glared at them and pretended to snap at them back, Whipping her shadow out at them.

Carlos' eyes grew wide, and a deep animalistic grow erupt from him, he ran over and grabbed Luna before Jazzy's demon shadow could grab her and his eyes snapped to his queen. Glowing red and burning with rage, "What in the name of Hades is wrong with you."

She raised an eyebrow and looked confused. "What did you say," She glared.

Normally he would have coward back but she tried to hurt his wolves so he was not having it, "You hurt my wolves Jazzy and I might just lose it." she walked straight up to her looking up at her as he only came to about chest level.

She needed to keep him under control, or else Ella would have her head. She cut her loses and drew her shadows back. "Keep your leather on." She rolled her eyes. "Anyway, I have news for Jane," The sweet smile that graced her lips worried Carlos.

Jane sat up with fear in her eyes, "What is it?" he asked warily, "Your mom was brought to trial by the fairy council," Jane deflated immediately, her mom was guilty, and she knew that. "She was found guilty and sentenced to a lose her magic and live out her now mortal life in Faeiry." She grinned sadistically. Jane's eyes watered, "she'll never see you again. Isn't that wonderful."

Without a second though Jane ran out of the screening room and to her room. She slammed the door and sobbed into her pillow. She knew her mom was guilty. She knew she was a bad person, but she was her mother, who loved and cared for her. Jane wasn't even mad at the taunting; she was mad that she would never get to see her mom again. She was mad that her mom would never hear her voice again. She was mad she would never curse her mother out for putting up that barrier and locking kids like Carlos on that aisle, Kids who were innocent and condemning them to a life of evil. She was mad her mother would never feel her fury.

Carlos ran after her and sat outside her room, he didn't want her to think he didn't care. He Sat there till four AM when Stella Nudged him awake and tried to nudge him to his room, eventually calling in back up from her and Luna's mother Jupiter, who was a giant wolf, and dragged him by the back of his coat.

Jane had woken up maybe an Hour ago and was much calmer than the night before and felt really bad about leaving Carlos like that last night. Finally, she was done waiting and left her room.

She had gotten a little lost in the halls and ran into Gil. she had seen him around, but she never spoke to him, "Hey" she said awkwardly.

"Oh hi." he smiled giddily. "I heard about what happened last night. Are you okay?"

"Oh yeah, just a little shocked and angry with Jazzy."

He tilted his head, "Why are you mad at Jazzy."

"She kinda taunted me about it and celebrated, which is the real reason that bothered me so much, she doesn't really like me," She didn't know why she started talking. Gil was just really easy to talk to. "She tried to keep me in a jar and she's always kicking me asid-" She started coughing and fell to knee."
