Chapter Fifty

Last time on DarkHearts: Carlos injected her, and she fell limp, Carlos Ryder and Gil all fell back looking worse for wear but not as bad as Jazzy. They were starting to realize how intense this was all getting. "If Jazzy was this bad, how bad is Ella gonna be?" Ryde asked, rubbing a hand over his eyes.

They had no time to waste waiting for Jazzy to wake up. They had a little more than two weeks before Ella's birthday which was thankfully a good cover for being secretive. If the boys are any indication, she won't decapitate them for not actually planning anything and trying to free her instead.

Doug had decided to read Andreana's journal a little more and discovered that her story was one of a girls who had everything but one little mistake drove her to madness and it was actually quite depressing. He called the others to discuss what he found hoping it could maybe help with freeing Ella. "Okay so I went deeper into Andreana's journal which is actually very depressing. Basically, She was part of a group of settlers that first came to the four kingdoms and did their best to make sure they wouldn't be disturbing local tribes on the continent, at least the people of three of the kingdoms did." Ben placed his head in his hands and bit down on his palm to keep from screaming. "Andreana would later become part of the selected eight, later twelve. Who spread out over the four kingdoms but came together regularly on how to protect them." the pieces were falling into place for them but not quickly enough?

"She lashed out at her sister trying to keep her away from someone she loved she used her sister as a lab rat after that and when she was trying to curse her sister she found that someone had found Ariana and tried to release her, she had the spell sitting in her hand and refused to dissipate it sparked a fight and she shot her hands out in a shooing motion in her lack of control she shot the spell at him making him the first victim of the completed mind mangle. Vita who was the princess also tried to get through to her and was actually the most successful, she apparently cornered Andreana and made her question a lot, but Andreana was also one of the first people to find and understand the powers of the moon drop without connecting to it and trapped Vita in a cage. Her story ends with her summoning spirits to absorb their power so she could have complete and total control of the elements. She realized that she had gone too far, she wanted to turn back time and set everything right. The last section is in different handwriting. It was Vita claiming that the power overwhelmed and destroyed Andreana, and she was so full of darkness that the spirits used a spell to cast her soul and power into the dark dimension but she fears one day she'll return and carry out her plan, so she left the spell that the spirits used."

Evie was the first to speak, "That's tragic."

Ben was next and he looked like he was in a deep though, "So Andreana had no care for her sister meaning since Ella is the farthest gone nothing Ryder does would help."

He looked terrified at the prospect of being useless for his sister. Uma gripped his hand before speaking, "It also means that the select eight, or eleven I guess now, since Andreana's power was never meant to leave the dark dimension, have happened before, and represent each of us here with magic."

"Here let me see that," Gil asks for the book. "Ariana was in Jazzy making that obvious, Andreana is MIA, Vita means life meaning Ella based on her healing abilities, Carlos called me Simon which must mean his powers connected the dots there."

Mal looked over her shoulder still holding Ben's hand, "he also called Uma Ophelia, Jay called me Kessem, Harry, fix, and Aaron Kai, and didn't Gil say Jazzy called Carlos Lowell. Then whose Ryder and Evie?"

Doug spoke up again, "Evie is Fia They both had the same power. Making Melany Ryder. Melany and Andreana were like sisters but she was the second person Andreana killed after Ariana so mixing Ryder's magic with Ella's corrupted magic is probably not the best course of action if we all want to make it out alive." Ryder slouched and ran a hand through his hair, "Vita and This person were the only one able to get through to Andreana so they should go but how can we do that if we don't even know who they could be."
