Christmas time was slowly approaching. Scratch that- it was coming in full speed. With only a week left before Christmas, Heeyeon could barely keep up. She had taken on a few extra hours at work so that she could afford gifts. She would have to exchange them before Christmas because everyone was traveling to see their family, including her.

Today she got off later than usual because she made another delivery order. When she got back to close up there was a familiar figure sitting on the bench outside. As she got closer she saw a pair of eyes that she'd recognize anywhere.

"Jisung?" She questioned. She wasn't asking to check if it was him. She was asking because she didn't know why he was here. "What are you doing here?"

"Well one, I stopped by your house but you weren't there. Two, I need to ask you something very important." He stated, trying to maintain his composure but his voice crack gave him away.

"I'm listening..."

"I don't really want to ask you like this so let me take you home." He gestured to his car. There was only one problem with that. "Ji, I drove here." He hadn't thought about that.

"Ugh, okay fine." He groaned. He beckoned Heeyeon over to sit next to him. "I would have liked to ask you on a really nice date or when the time was better but I really need to get it off of my chest. Sooner than later."

"Heeyeon, I have loved every single moment I have ever spent with you. Even studying. Whenever you smile it makes my heart flutter. When you cry, I want nothing more than to hold you and protect you. I love the way you look like a bunny when you eat too. Since I've made you my person, I would also like to become your person." Jisung looked Heeyeon straight in the eyes.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Heeyeon's eyes had already begun to fill with tears at his confession. At the question that followed, she started boohooing. Jisung was confused at her reaction but he decided to remain optimistic. She threw her arms around his neck and continued to cry into his shoulder. He didn't know what to do other than to wrap his arms around her in return.

She pulled away but kept her head down. "I'm sorry, this is just the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me." She wiped her tears away with the back of her hands.

Once she calmed down enough to look at him, she decided she ought to tell him how she feels about him as well. "Before I answer, I also need to get something off of my chest."

"Jisung, I have admired you since before I knew your name. Your presence in my life has improved it beyond measure. You asked to become my person but you're already my person. Whenever I was crying, it was the sound of your heartbeat that calmed me."

"So, yes. I will gladly be your girlfriend!" She launched herself into his embrace again. This time, with a huge smile. He squeezed her tight but quickly released her when he realized that he might crack one of her ribs. Heeyeon didn't mind. She didn't even notice. She was too caught up in the pure bliss of the moment.

"Ji, you just made my night." She smiled at him brightly. It reminded him of something. "Oh, I almost forgot. I have your Christmas gift with me."

He reached into his pocket, pulled out a small gift box, and handed it to Heeyeon. "I had really hoped you'd say yes."

She took the box and opened it, revealing a silver necklace with a small "J" charm. Obviously, the J stood for Jisung. "I love it!!" She shouted. She took it out of the box and handed it to him. She turned around and lifted her hair. He placed it around her neck and clasped it.

"I have one too" he states, pulling his necklace out of his shirt. His was gold with an "H" for Heeyeon. "So what would you have done if I said no?" Heeyeon queried. "We would have just had friendship necklaces I guess." He shrugged. "Oh and Chenle told me to make sure that I give him his credits. He's the one who helped me choose the necklaces. He told me you liked silver more than gold."

"I'll make sure I thank him." She giggled. "Thank you, Jisung. Wait for me to close up, then you can come to my place if you're not busy."

"Oh I got you a gift too, wait here" Heeyeon instructed as she left to go to her bedroom.

She returned with a small gift bag. "I hope you like it." She extended it out to him still standing. He opened it to reveal a box just like the one Heeyeon's necklace came in. He opened it to see a bracelet with a carrot charm on it. "Since you say I look like a bunny and bunnies love carrots..."

Jisung laughed out loud which startled Heeyeon. "I actually love this so much. Thank you."

"So...about us being a couple now, I have one thing to say." Jisung began. Heeyeon was all ears. "I hate pet names. My last girlfriend traumatized me. And don't please don't call me Jisungie." He pretended he was about to vomit.

"Oh me too, I just never liked them. They seem cringe to me. I'd prefer a funny nickname anyway."

"I'm leaving tomorrow for the holidays by the way," Heeyeon said. "I would have told you sooner but I was so busy from work and everything-"

"Heeyeon, you don't have to be sorry. I understand and I'm so happy to know that you're not going to be alone on Christmas. It broke my heart to leave you for Thanksgiving even if your mom and sister did come." Jisung reassured her. He seemed to be pretty good at that.

"Are you going back home?" He inquired. "No, I'm going to my grandmother's house. She lives like 45 minutes away from here which is another reason my mom allowed me to come to stay here. Yeah, we always go see her on Christmas and I get to see some of my favorite cousins."

Jisung just smiled at his girlfriend. She seemed so happy talking about her family and it made him happy too. Apparently, he started smiling like an idiot because Heeyeon stopped talking to check on him. He reassured her that he was okay by pulling her into his lap and squeezing her tight while fanboying over how cute she was.

The new couple talked for a while until they considered it late. They bid each other good night and rested well while thoughts of each other danced throughout their minds, almost depriving them of sleep.
