"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JISUNG!!" All of his friends shouted. Jisung nearly died from shock when he walked through the door of the arcade. He turned to the girl next to him. "I thought we were just going to the arcade to hang out." He said holding his hand over his heart.
"I wanted to surprise you!" Heeyeon smiled up at him. Jisung's eyes filled with tears. He was so touched. He leaned down and buried his face into Heeyeon's neck. It surprised her. "Aww" the group of people cooed. Heeyeon rubbed his back slowly.
"Thank you so much, Heeyeon. I love you so much."
Heeyeon's eyes widened. Her eyebrows raised in shock. She couldn't believe the words that came out of his mouth. Then again, she wasn't the only one. Jisung's eyes also widened for a split second before he realized how much he meant those words.
He stood up straight, looking down at her fondly. She looked up at him still stunned. "Heeyeon, I've wanted to say that to you for a while now..." he said barely above a whisper. "Jisung...I love you too." She responded. Now it was her turn to cry happy tears.
"Umm, why are they crying?" Donghyuck asked quite loudly. "Shh, they're having a moment!" Lia whisper shouted, swatting him on the shoulder. He turned towards her and feigned a hurt expression. She just rolled her eyes at him.
Jisung and Heeyeon embraced each other one more time before turning towards the other guests. Jisung looked over the group of people to see Mark, Donghyuck, Chenle, Lia, Anjae, and even Jaemin. Everyone was here. Everyone who genuinely cared for him.
"We have the arcade to ourselves for three hours. Have fun!" Heeyeon announced. The group quickly dispersed, everyone ran to try out the different games and activities the arcade had to offer. Jisung chose a two-player MarioKart game. He dragged poor Chenle along behind him to be the second player.
Heeyeon couldn't help but let herself feel proud and accomplished. Jisung loved it and he loved her. Nothing could ruin the way she feels in this moment. At least, that's what she thought. A particular (uninvited) guest had just strolled through the door.
Heeyeon's jaw nearly hit the floor when she saw NingNing walk through the door. "Oh unh unh, you've got to go!" Heeyeon shouted at her. "Huh? Why?! I just want to see Jisung and give him my gift." She pleaded.
"This is a private party, how'd you even know about it?" Heeyeon turned to scan the room for anybody looking suspicious. Everyone shook their heads in defense. "I may have overheard you at the coffee shop. I was sitting near your table on my break. I'm actually very surprised that you didn't see me."
NingNing's hair was bright red so it was strange that she had gone unnoticed.
"Anyways, I promise I'm not here for any trouble. I just want to wish Jisung a happy birthday and give him this." She held up a white envelope with Jisung's name written on the front.
"And why should I believe you? Remember that day you insulted me and made me late for work because you wouldn't move away from my car?" Heeyeon placed her hands on her hips angrily.
"Right...well, I'm sorry. Heeyeon, I'm really am. I was stuck on Jisung and I was jealous of you. That's all. But you don't have to worry about that anymore. I promise I've moved on." She said genuinely. "I'll give this to Jisung and be on my way."
Heeyeon thought hard for a second then she nodded her head. "Okay." She watched NingNing stroll over to Jisung and give him the card. As the red-haired girl made her way to the entrance, she stopped when she heard her name called. "Would you like to stay and hang out?" Heeyeon asked. NingNing's face lit up. She nodded quickly with a huge smile.
"Hey, NingNing!" Jisung shouted. "Why don't you come over here and play a round with Chenle?" He called out. "Dude, what?" Chenle turned to his best friend with a confused look on his face. "Shh, just go with it." Jisung reassured.
"Sure!" She replied and took the seat next to Chenle at the MarioKart game. Jisung walked over to where Heeyeon, who had just made herself a plate of food. Right before she was about to sit down, Jisung grabbed her hands and asked her to follow him outside.
"What's wrong?" Heeyeon asked him. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Everything is just right and it's all thanks to you." He said softly. Heeyeon began blushing at the sudden statement.
"Heeyeon I meant what I said earlier. I love you. You are the most caring person I have ever met and the best girlfriend anyone could ever ask for!" Heeyeon didn't know what to say. She felt tears welling up in her eyes again.
"Stop it, you're going to make me cry again!" She whined. Jisung just giggled at her. "I love you too, Jisung." She muttered not wanting to break into tears. Jisung stepped closer to her. He wrapped his arms around her but held eye contact.
They smiled as they stared into each other's eyes. Slowly but surely the space was closing between them. Heeyeon was the first to close her eyes in anticipation. Jisung bent down slightly and placed his lips onto hers.
Finally. They thought simultaneously.
The kiss was light and gentle, truly demonstrating the genuine feelings they had for one another. Heeyeon would describe the feeling as walking on clouds. {I wanna walk on clouds.}
After coming down from their high, the couple decides to re-enter the party. They entered the room to see what looked like Chenle and NingNing flirting... Mark was pouting, Anjae had been captured by Jaemin, and Hyuck...was still gaming with Lia.
"Heeyeon, your cousin stole my girlfriend!" Mark tattled. "Mark, stop being so dramatic!" Anjae shouted from the air hockey table. Jaemin was sitting alone and Anjae didn't like that, so she invited him to play.
"They have a ship name!!" He whined. "A ship name?" Jisung questioned. "Yeah, it's like when a couple puts their names together to create one name." Heeyeon explained. "But it's not always used for couples. Friends do it too, like Anjae and Jaemin over there."
"They call themselves 2Jae. I think it's corny." Mark huffed. It surprised Heeyeon and Jisung to see him acting like this. The normally laid back older boy was acting...bratty. "We don't even have a ship name!" He exclaimed.
"Okay, Mark. Let's make one then." Anjae said, walking over from the air hockey table. Jaemin followed. "How about MarkJae?" Anjae suggested. Mark's eyes lit up. "I love it!" He exclaimed.
"What about you guys?" Jaemin gestured towards Heeyeon and Jisung. They shook their heads "no".
"How about...JiYeon?""Nah, that sounds like someone else's name." Heeyeon said.
"Ok, HeeSung?"
"I know someone named Heeseung back home, it's too similar."
"YeonSung!" Donghyuck shouted from across the room. "Ooh I like that one!" Jisung chimed in. "Me too! Okay, we're YeonSung!" Heeyeon announced.
"Hey, Hyuck! Do you guys have a ship name?" Jisung inquired. "Yep." The boy replied. "It's SuHyuck. Since my name is Jisu." Lia explained. The group responded with oohs and ahhs.
~
Their three hours had finally come to an end. Jisung's surprise birthday had been a success. Heeyeon let herself melt into a feeling of satisfaction. She had even become friends with NingNing. Heeyeon was happy with the life she had made for herself and she was grateful for all of the lessons she's had to learn. The only thing she could do now was look forward to her future with Jisung and all of her new friends.
The End...but not really. (Bonus chapter not a sequel lol)
