"That's okay you can call me grandma....what's your name again?", Heejin's grandma said while watering the plants.
"Uh...S-Sunoo...", he said.
"Where are you going?"
"Ah....today is Heejin's birthday....I wanted to go buy her a cake", Sunoo said.
"Ah...I see....okay then, make sure to buy her snickers cake....the bakery is beside the mart over there", grandma said and pointed at a direction.
"Oh okay...I'll get going now...", Sunoo bowed and chuckled nervously.
He walk past her and sigh as relief.
"Why do I think she's scary though.....", he said to himself and shook his head.
He arrived at the bakery and opens the door. He took a deep breathe and smelt the scent of the bakery.
"Wah...it smells so sweet~", he smiled and walk towards a woman with an apron on.
"Annyonghaseyo, do you have any snickers cake here?", Sunoo asked.
"Ah yes....are you Heejin's relative?", the woman asked.
"Oh you know her?"
"Yes! She's our regular customer here, she always comes here and buy snickers cake on her birthday"
Sunoo frowned.
"She bought it herself?"
"Yes, does she live alone? I'm kind felt bad to ask her about it, do you know where she lives?"
"Ah...she's staying with her grandma...so that's why she bought a cake by herself...", Sunoo replied.
"What about her parents?"
Sunoo stays silent. After a few seconds, he spoke.
"Ah, I don't know about that...", he chuckles nervously.
"Okay, I'll take snickers cake for you, wait here", the woman bowed and walks away.
Sunoo looks down.
Does she celebrate her birthday herself every year?
Without her parents?
Alone?
Is she singing happy birthday song by herself?
Or if she's not alone...maybe with her grandma?
But why does she bought the cake herself?
Someone has to buy it from her....
doesn't she make any birthday party?
Does...she have anyone to invite...?
Sunoo snapped out from his thought when the woman came with a box of cake.
"Here you go, it's ₩25,000"
"Okay...", Sunoo takes out his money and was about to pay until his eyes landed on the balloons.
Should I buy it? And make a decoration in her room and celebrate together?
She will be very happy....
I will buy it...
"Uh, can I buy the balloons also?"
