After we left Vienna we went to D.C. where I met Nick Fury. I was staying with him while I learned about the world and how it was supposed to be without the red room's lies. I got to try new foods, go to parks, to the library, I got to watch movies, and I even got to sleep in.
Sleeping was weird at first because I was worried about not having my safety cuff but Nat told me I didn't need them anymore. It took some getting used to but after some time Nick gave me a bracelet and said I could pretend it was a safety cuff if it helped me sleep better and it did.
I was currently in my room waiting for Maria Hill so we could go out for breakfast with Nat.
"Persefoni? Sweetheart are you ready?" She asked walking into the room as I sat on my bed.
"I need clothes." I mumbled and she looked at me confused.
"Don't you have clothes in your closet?" She questioned walking over to the closet and opening the door.
"See, you've got all these clothes in here honey, what would you like to wear?" She asked turning to me and I looked at her confused.
"Whatever you say Mrs. Hill."I replied and her eyes widened and she nodded.
"Ok well how about you help me pick?" She offered.
"Help...like a mission?" I asked and she nodded after a moment so I slowly got up walking over to her.
"What do you normally wear?" She asked looking at my selection of clothes.
"Under clothes, pants, shirt, socks-"
"Ok, how about this...do you see any colors you like?" I looked around when a dress that was white on top with a rainbow skirt caught my eye and I smiled shyly.
"Can I wear that one?" I asked pointing to the dress.
"I think that's a beautiful choice." She smiled, gently pulling it off the hanger and handing it to me.
Once I hand the dress one I spun around in front of the mirror happily looking at my reflection when a pair of shoes stood out to me.
"Ooo and those!" I gasped grabbing them and putting them on. They didn't match completely but it made me happy to pick out my clothes for the first time.
"Knock Knock!" A familiar voice called from the other side of the door.
"Phil!" I cheered opening the door for him. He was always kind to me. Every time I saw him he would drop whatever he was doing to talk to me. It made me feel comfortable here.
"Wow! Look at you." He smiled as I spun around.
"Mrs. Hill let me pick it myself." I explained and his eyes widened.
"You picked this out all by yourself!" He asked and I nodded happily when he pulled a bag from behind his back.
"All the more reason to give you this!" He smiled and I sat the bag at my feet pulling the wrapping paper out and I gasped.
"She's from our show!" I smiled pulling the Hello Kitty stuffed animal out of the bag and he nodded.
"I thought you'd enjoy that. Now I don't want to keep you since it's breakfast day." He smiled before opening his arms so I could hug him.
"Bye Phil, I hope you get some bad guys today." I smiled waving at him before turning to Maria who was watching our interaction with a smile.
"Ready to go?" She asked and I nodded.
