Because Dumbledore wanted to talk to me privately I had time to shower and change my clothes. Which I was extremely grateful for because I've been covered in sewer water for the last few hours.
"Come in Persefoni!" He called from the other side of his office door after I knocked. So with I sighed I pushed the door open.
"Are you going to expel me sir?" I asked nervously, which in my opinion was warranted considering this is the first time I have ever stepped foot in his office.
"Should I be expelling you?" He asked with a smile, gesturing to a chair that sat in front of his desk. Once I was seated I was immediately hit with a wave a nausea.
"No...sir, I don't think so. Unless that's the wrong answer." I said shifting in the chair in an attempt to find a comfortable sitting position.
"It's all a matter of opinion...are you alright, Miss Romanoff?" He asked, eyeing me. He looked...nervous. But that was probably just my mind playing tricks on me.
"It's just really warm in here." I mumbled and he nodded hesitantly before a smile made its way across his face.
"I believe we should have a conversation, one that is long over due. Wouldn't you agree?" He questioned and I thought for a moment before nodding.
"You wish to learn about your mother." He said causing me to nod again.
"That's why I agreed to come to Hogwarts in the first place. I want to know what happened to her, how I ended up where I did. I have so many questions-"
"Probably more than I have the answers to I'm afraid. But I can tell you this, You're mother and her friends where very brave. And they died for the greater good, for a better future not only for you but for your friends. In your short time here I'm sure you've heard of a man, his name was Voldemort. He was a dark wizard who believed himself to be the most powerful wizard who ever lived. He courted chaos and thrived on fear, ironically his targets were halfbloods and muggle born even though he was a halfblood himself. He killed everyone who stood in his way and unfortunately-"
"My mother was one of those people." I mumbled sadly and he nodded. I couldn't put my finger on it but something about Dumbledore just didn't seem right to me.
"Yes, bright witch. One of the brightest I must say, it's tragic what happened to her, to all of them really." He sighed solemnly.
"All of them, sir?" I asked confused.
"In time my dear, we best not discuss it now. Besides you should probably visit the hospital wing, have Poppy patch up that cut on your cheek." He explained.
"The cut? I don't have a..." my voice trailed off as he handed me a mirror from his desk and there was in fact, a small scratch no bigger than an inch just under my eye.
"Right, well I'll see you later." I smiled before standing up and leaving.
As soon as I descended the stairs and I was back in the corridor I felt better. It was like the burning sensation and nausea I felt, never happened.
