I rushed to the castle and went to the library. There was a passageway there that lead straight to the Gryffindor common room and I could easily beat Harry, Ron, and Hermione to my dorm.

"Good Afternoon Madame Pince." I smiled as I ran past her desk.

"Miss Romanoff! No running in the library!" She said in a harsh whisper.

"Sorry!" I called over my shoulder as I ran to to the back of the library and went up the portrait of dogs laying in the sun and rubbed my pointer finger over one of their stomachs. The dogs rolled around for a second before the portrait swung open and I climbed in.

"Clover! Aspen! Come on." I whispered and the two bowtruckles rushed over with my laptop and I grabbed it from them before scooping them into my hand and rushing through the passageway.

When I exited inside the common room, it was virtually empty beside a few first years but they didn't seem to notice me.

I quickly ran to my dorm and threw myself on my bed with my laptop on my lap and let out a huff of air.

"We did it!" Aspen cheered and I nodded smiling at his enthusiasm. Then he and Clover wandered to the edge of my bed where the remote was and turned on the TV.

"Effy? Can we come in?" Ron asked knocking on the door and I looked around before I noticed my shoes were covered in muddy snow so I quickly kicked them off and waved my wand to clean the mess.

"Yeah! It's unlocked." I called back and he walked in followed by Harry and Hermione.

"What's going on?" I asked closing my laptop and sitting up straighter as Harry threw himself down in the chair in front of my desk as Ron took off his shoes and coat before laying down next to me and Hermione sat on the loveseat I had near the window.

"I know why Sirius Black broke out of Azkaban, like the real reason." Harry sighed running his hands through his curls.

"You do?" I asked confused, maybe Sirius and I miss understood, maybe he had been yelling about Peter.

"Yea, he betrayed them and now he's probably here to kill me." Harry sighed. Okay so maybe he did mean Peter...

"What?" I asked looking at him in disbelief.

"Yeah, we heard the whole thing. They were talking about it in the three broomsticks." Ron said and I shook my head.

"Maybe you heard wrong. I mean, they were friends just as we are. He wouldn't have-"

"How do you know they were friends?" Ron asked as they looked at me confused.

"Well because, my mother was friends with James and Lily and from what I've heard, she was friends with Sirius too. So naturally I assumed they were all friends." I explained, which wasn't really a lie. I was told that Sirius was friends with my mother...by Sirius. But I couldn't tell them that.

"So?" Harry scoffed rolling his eyes.

"So, I think he's innocent. I mean if they were just as close if not closer than we are...you can't really think he'd betray your parents. Right?" I asked looking around at the three of them.

"You're being naive. Why would some many people think he betrayed them if he didn't do it?" Harry asked almost seeming like he was expecting me to just agree with him.

"Maybe because rumors travel fast. It just take one person with a bad point of view to ruin someone's reputation. I think he's innocent." I shrugged.

"Ok, so suppose it had been your mother he betrayed. Suppose it had been him who killed her. Suppose it was his fault you lived anything but the perfect life you live right now. Would you think we should just hear him out then?" Harry asked glaring at me and I scoffed.
