The next morning I arrived in Transfiguration quickly taking my seat next to Ron.

"Good morning Effy." Ron smiled happily as I set up my laptop and pulled my wand from my backpack.

"Morning Ronnie." I replied looking over at him while everyone else was settling into the room as well.

"Could I have your attention, please? Right. Now, today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets." McGonagal explained from the front of the room as we all sat at our desks.

"Like so." She continued before turning to the bird that sat at her desk with her wand in her hand.

"One, two, three, Vera Verto. Now it's your turn. Who would like to go first?" She explained as we all looked at the water goblet that was a bird moments ago. Then she approached Ron an I with a smile.

"Ah! Mr. Weasley. One, two, three, Vera Verto." She instructed as Ron pulled Scabbers out of his pocket.

"Ahem!" Ron said awkwardly clearing his throat before silently tapping his still broken wand against Scabbers' back.

"Vera Verto." Instead of turning into a crystal water goblet it was furry an it had a tail. The goblet let out a few squeals as everyone started to laugh.

"That wand needs replacing, Mr. Weasley." McGonagal sighed while Ron nodded, blushing with embarrassment.

"I think you did wonderfully." I whispered to him and he smiled.

"Thanks Effy." He whispered back.

"Yes, Ms. Granger?" McGonagal asked when she noticed that Hermione's hand was raised as she sat behind us with Harry.

"Professor, I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets." There was a murmur of interest at Hermione's question so McGonagal sighed probably knowing she wouldn't be able to move past it without telling us something.

"Very well. Well, you all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Now three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously. One did not." She began to explain.

"Three guesses who." Ron muttered loud enough for Harry, Hermione, an I to hear and we all nodded, knowing who it was.

"Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. In other words, pure-bloods. Unable to sway the others, he decided to leave the school. Now, according to legend, Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle, known as the Chamber of Secrets. Well, shortly before departing, he sealed it, until that time when his own true heir returned to the school. The Heir alone would be able to open the Chamber, and unleash the horror within, and by so doing, purge the school of all those who, in Slytherin's view, were unworthy to study magic." McGonagal explained and Hermione gasped before speaking.
