Debbie's POV:
I was laying on my bed, looking up at all the different species of fish swimming on top of me. Three hours had passed since Lou had walked away from the museum. I didn't know what to do. My brother was alive, I know that now. He had to be. But where did he go, why did he pretend to die and not tell me?
I hear a loud knock on my door.
"Lou?"
The door opened slowly as Lou walked in wearing emerald silk pants and a black long sleeve shirt.
"I'm sorry," she says sitting down on the bed.
"I should have told you," I reply sitting down next to her.
"He is your brother, you have all the right in the world to find out what happened."
"Yes, but I should have told you about it."
"You should have,"
"I was scared that you wouldn't want to do it."
"Why wouldn't I Deb? I care about you, and he is your brother, so I care about him too."
"Thank you for understanding Lou," I say hugging her.
It felt strange, my relationship with Lou isn't really touchy feely, it's more of a best friends type - bullying each other, play fighting, insults, etc.
"So, what now?" Lou asks, pulling away.
"I have no clue."
"Where is he? Did he say he always wanted to go somewhere?"
"I've been trying to figure it out, but my mind is blank."
We sat there, I don't know for how long, in complete silence. But it was comfortable silence, we felt safe with each other.
"Bali!" I call out with excitement.
"What?" Lou asks, confused.
"He always said how if something terrible happened he would go hide in Bali."
"Why Bali?"
"Because...beautiful country, but with a terrible police and security system."
"I've never been to Bali," Lou points out.
"Yeah, me neither,"
"Should we go?" Lou looks at me excitedly.
"I don't know," I reply back. I was terrified of finding him, of finding out the truth.
"We are going," Lou says, standing up. "Bali it is."
The next morning we woke up, purchased a one-way ticket to Bali, and left.
"You must really love me," I say as I look at Lou sitting next to me on the plane.
"Honestly, I had nothing better to do and Bali sounds fun."
"No, you love me," I say prodding her on the shoulder.
Lou looked at me and smiled, she started blushing.
