A few weeks after Betty had gotten over her head cold, Betty began to notice that she was getting really nauseous in the mornings. She didn't want to believe what could be the cause of this. But she went to the pharmacy to get a pregnancy test just in case. While she was there she grabbed three pregnancy tests just to be on the safe side. When she was done she saw three positive tests. How was she going to tell Jughead? They had only been married for a few weeks and they were only 19. She knew he needed to know the truth but she didn't know whether or not he would want to be part of the child's life. She didn't know if she was ready to be a mom. She didn't know if Jughead is ready to be a dad. They had been working so hard to get a place on the Northside. She didn't want to have to take money out of that to pay for medical bills and everything else she would need to take care of a kid. She was so scared. She didn't know what to do. Luckily, Jughead was at a shift at Pop's and wouldn't be home until later so she decided to call Veronica. She knew Veronica would help her through this.

"Hey, B. What's up?" Veronica said when she answered.

"V, I need to tell you something," Betty said.

"What is it, Betty?" Veronica could tell that Betty was afraid of whatever was going on.

"I'm pregnant." Betty sobbed.

"B. That's amazing!" Veronica exclaimed.

"I just found out and I don't know how to tell Jughead about this. I don't know if he'll want to be a part of this child's life. I don't know if he's ready to be a dad. I don't even know if I'm ready to be a mom." Betty said through tears.

"The only way to know if he wants to be part of this kid's life is to tell him that you're pregnant." Veronica told her.

"But what if he throws me out? What if he files for divorce? What if he wants me to give the baby up for adoption? What if he wants me to get an abortion?" Betty was completely breaking down emotionally.

"Betty. You don't know those things will happen. If Jughead loves you as much as he says he does, then he'll most likely support you and want to be part of your baby's life." Veronica assured her.

"*sigh* You're right V. Thank you." Betty said trying to calm down.

"That's what I'm here for." Veronica said and hung up.

A couple of hours later Jughead came back to the trailer and got in the shower after a hard shift at Pop's. After he got out of the shower Jughead saw that Betty had gotten dinner ready with sparkling cider. He knew this unusual because every time they had a romantic dinner there was usually wine.

"Betts... What's going on?" Jughead asked her.

"I just wanted to surprise you with a romantic dinner. Is that so wrong? Sparkling cider?" Betty asked as she poured him a glass of cider.

They both sat down and began to eat. Jughead noticed that Betty was eating more than usual tonight. It was like she was eating for two people like Jughead normally did. He knew that he had to know what was going on with Betty tonight.

"Betty, what's going on? It's like you're eating for two people." Jughead said.

"Well, I have some news Jug. But I'm not sure if you're ready to hear it." She told him honestly.

"Try me." He said with a confident smile.

"Well, I'm pregnant. You're gonna be a dad." She told him hoping for a positive reaction.

Jughead's jaw dropped and he fainted. That was not the reaction she was expecting. Betty was expecting him to get angry with her. She was also partially hoping for him to be excited to be a dad. She brought him to the couch so he would be in a comfortable spot when he came to.

A couple of hours later Jughead came to and shook his head as if he had just had some kind of weird dream. Betty was sitting in the chair when he regained consciousness.

"Hey, Juggie." Betty said with a small smile.

"Betts. What happened?" Jughead asked.

"Well, you fainted after I gave you the news." Betty said.

"You mean, I'm really going to be a dad?" Jughead asked her with a small smile.

"Yeah." Betty smiled slightly bigger.

"That's incredible Betty! When did you find out?" Jughead asked.

"A couple of hours before you got home from work, I had been getting morning sickness for a few weeks and decided to get a few pregnancy tests, and they all came back positive. " Betty said.

"I can't believe we're going to be parents! This is huge. Does anyone else know?" Jughead exclaimed.

"Just Veronica. Unless she told Archie after I called her." Betty told him.

"Wait, Veronica knew before I did? Why?" Jughead asked.

"I was scared. I didn't know how you were going to react when I told you so I called her to figure things out. She's the one that told me to tell you." Betty said looking down shamefully.

"Why were you scared, Betty?" Jughead was genuinely concerned for his wife.

"I was afraid you wouldn't want to part of this child's life. I was afraid that you'd throw me out or file for divorce." Betty said with tears beginning to form in her eyes.

"Hey, I would never do that Betty. I love you. Now I have three people to love. My dad, you, and our baby. I'll love this little nugget with all my heart. Just like how much I love you, Betty. We're going to be great parents. Have you gone in to confirm with a doctor yet?" Jughead asked her wiping tears off of her cheeks.

"Not yet." She said continuing to cry.

"Well. It's late now. I'll call to get you an appointment as soon as possible to confirm with a doctor. Okay? Jughead assured her.

"Okay, Juggie. Thank you. You have no idea how happy you just made me." Betty said starting to calm down.

"I'll always be here for you Betty. I'll always be here for our child too. We'll do everything we can to give our child a good childhood." Jughead said.

Betty began to yawn. She was so tired from crying and it was almost 11:00 pm. Jughead brought her into their bedroom and they got changed for the night. Betty laid her head on Jughead's chest listening to his heartbeat to help her get to sleep. A few minutes later Betty was fast asleep. Jughead kissed her forehead and fell asleep beside her.
