"Why did you bring us back?"
"Do you realise what you've done what you've started?"
"I was protecting my home!"
"You cannot even protect your friends! How do you hope to protect a Kingdom? Get him to the healing room now!"
I finally opened my eyes, I was still at Loki's side who had his arm wrapped firmly around me, I tried to push away but my brother held me firmly with my head buried in his side not letting me see what was going on.
"There won't be a Kingdom to protect if your afraid to act, the Jotuns must learn to fear me as they once feared you"
"That is pride and vanity talking, not leadership" Despite the fact that I did not like Father in the slightest, I couldn't help but agree with him, Thor had been arrogant and vain, it had nearly cost us our lives, "Have you forgotten everything I taught you about a warriors patience?"
"While you wait and be be patient, the nine realms laugh at us, the old ways are done! You'd stand giving speeches while Asgard falls."
"You are a vain, greedy and cruel boy!" At this point I was quite literally shaking against Loki's side. I had only ever heard Father shout like this once before and that definitely did not end well for me. My breathing quickened and my head went light simply thinking about it.
But at this point I couldn't tell if that was from my fall back on Jotenheim or if it was indeed the painful memory. Then Thor did something that shook me to my core, "You are an old man a fool!"
Of corse he was right but Father wouldn't like hearing that. The silence that hung in the air was made even more concerning as I still had my head pressed into Loki and couldn't read the room.
I pushed myself away from him so that we both slightly stumbled away from one another.
"Yes. I was a fool." I could not help but smile, Odin had finally admitted it. Odin himself. "To think you were ready." Oh for the AllFathers sake! Never mind, the phrase that I had waited my entire life to hear I almost got it, came so agonisingly close for him to go and ruin it.
"Father" Loki rushed forward
"HEY!" Father warned him
"Thor Odinson, you have betrayed the express command of your King, through your arrogance and stupidity you have opened these peaceful realms and innocent lives to the horror and desolation of war. You are unworthy of these realms, you are unworthy of your title" That's when it hit me.
Clear as day, Thor was to be banished. For all I despise my brother for what he has done, he is still my brother. I may be closer to Loki, but that does not mean I do not love Thor. For all I may plot on how to kill him on a daily basis, I cannot imagine my life without him.
Fathers shouts began to simply ring in my ears, just like how it was at the beginning of the battle on Jotenheim, I could not move. I was rooted to the spot. No matter how much I wished I could move, no matter how much I begged my body to obey, it simply wouldn't.
Suddenly all my senses came crashing back to me, I heard Father shouting still, I saw Thor's armour disintegrating into nothingness and the rest falling off of him. Then Thor was thrown back into the bifrost.
I didn't have time to think, it was purely instinct that I acted upon in that moment. I screamed for him and flung myself towards him, Loki grabbed my foot but I kicked him away. Loki screamed my name but it felt rather distant. The next thing I knew I was in the bifrost myself.
What the hell have I done?
Crash. That's the only word I would use to describe it, crash. Even the word itself, take away its meaning sounds chaotic and disjointed, so it is rather fitting word for its meaning. I crashed. Thor crashed. The bifrost crashed around us. Everything was disjointed, it was all happening perfectly but it felt wrong.
"Thor" I croaked out crawling over to where he lay. "Thor" I repeated again, shaking him slightly. Someone was shouting in the background but the noise felt, fuzzy almost. I could hear what they were saying, they were speaking perfect English, but I couldn't process or remember a word they were saying.
Thor took a deep breath in and I collapsed onto his chest with relief, thank goodness he wasn't dead atleast. He stood up quickly and I was flung onto the ground and let out a pathetic whimper of pain.
"Hammer? Hammer!" He shouted, it was clear he was awfully disoriented too.
"Yeah we can tell your hammered, it's pretty obvious" An unfamiliar voice said
I slowly stood up, my head now had a heart beat of it's own and blood was still trickling down my face. "Brother it's gone, it's back with Father, he kept it, it's not yours anymore" I tried to be as gentle as I could with my words but there was no way to lightly put this, any of this.
"Father! Heimdall! I know you can hear me open the bifrost" The people behind us were muttering something about a hospital, it broke my heart to see Thor like this, we were both stranded, with no hope, yet here he thought there was a way to go back. "You" He pointed at the woman kneeling down, "What realm is this?"
He began listing possible realms because in truth, we had no idea where we were.
"New Mexico"
"You dare threaten me"
"Thor.." I began but in my current state I knew I could not make a threat to shut him up that I would follow through on so for once in my life I shut the hell up.
Suddenly the second woman shot something at my brother. I screamed his name and clumsily stumbled over towards him, I knelt down beside him and cradled his head, "No, no, no, come on, don't be dead, don't be dead" I repeated as I rocked him gently back and forth.
"What in Odin's name did you do?" I whispered looking up to the woman who shot him. She just blankly stared back at me, I placed my brothers head down on the ground as I stood up and conjured a dagger behind my back behind my back and slowly brought it round to my front.
"Hold on hold on!" The man screamed at me slowly standing up, tears were now steaming down my face, not taking my eyes off the woman who had just shot my brother I repeated again, "What the hell did you do?" I screamed this time.
I hated how weak I sounded, the woman must've saw this because in one swift motion she took a duplicate of the weapon she had used against my brother and shot me with it. I could see it, like it was in slow motion, but I was too weak to do anything, so I just stood there and accepted it.
Electricity coursed through my body, just like the time when we were children and Thor had accidentally zapped me lightly with a lightning bolt. Then darkness. My eyelids fluttered shut
