The grunts of battle echoed around the forest below us. I moved away from cliff edge but Loki moved forward eager to see his brother injured. I stood back watching, analysing and trying to think of what could have happened but nothing came to mind.

Suddenly there was a huge blast that knocked both me and Loki back against the cliff wall behind us. It was sometime later that the Midguardians came back for us with Thor at their side. They had grabbed Loki and yet again restrained him, after that was complete they had tried to grab me. Thor had kindly explained that because I shared the same hair colour and also wore some black, did not mean that I was the same person.

In all honesty Midgardians can be awfully stupid at times. We reached yet another ship, a larger one this time, Loki was escorted off and me and Thor were led to a large room with a lot of open space. There was a screen built into the table, from there everyone watched my brother locked inside a glass cell. Loki monologued but no matter how hard I tried to listen I couldn't, the sight of his eyes a completely new shade was truly unnerving to me.

Nobody else seemed to notice, not even Thor, but if I was to say anything it would look like I was making excuses for him and I would most likely end up in the same glass cage as my brother. Hence, I held my tongue.

"He really grows on you doesn't he?"

"Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?" Yay, yet again I am forgotten about do I truly make such a fleeting impression on everyone I meet? I looked up to my brother standing next to me but he was just staring at the floor clearly thinking about something else.

"He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard nor any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the Earth, in return, I suspect, for the Tesseract." Thor explained it simple and clear yet the man dressed in blue looked completely dumbfounded, "An army, from outer space?"

"No from this planet, yes from 'outer space' as you call it, my brother explained that extremely simply did he not?" Instead of a reply I earned a glare from Thor and a minor scolding. The man in the purple shirt continued, "So, he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for"

I chuckled, Loki really did have a way of getting on people's nerves. He could have chosen any scientist in all of Midgard yet he chose Selvig? This was a direct hit at Thor from Loki and honestly, well played. "Selvig?"

"He's an astrophysicist"

"He's a friend"

"Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours"

"I wanna know why Loki let us take him, he's not leading an army from here" Finally these people were asking the right questions, yet immediately I was proven wrong when the man in purple spoke up, "I don't think we should be focusing on Loki, that guys brain is a bag full of cats. You could smell crazy on him"

I widened my stance and stepped forward but Thor put his arm out to his left blocking me from taking another step further, "Have care how you speak, Loki is beyond reason but he is of Asgard" Thor then looked down at me removing his hand and smiled sadly, "And he is my brother"

Thor not denying Loki as his brother was comforting, if Thor still saw him as his brother then he would help bring Loki back to Asgard for his own good, not for Asgard's or the nine realm's sake, but for Loki's. "He killed eighty people in two days"

"He's adopted" Thor stated, I smacked him over the head as hard as I could so that he actually stumbled forward, "That is no excuse, do not say that!" I practically shouted at him, at home I would have screamed it but we were in the company of others so the best I could do was an almost shout.

"I think it's about the mechanics. Iridium, what do they need the iridium for?"

"It's a stabilising agent" The voice came from the corner of the room, when he started talking to him I recognised him as the man who wore the ridiculous red and and gold armour. "It means the portal won't collapse in on itself like it did at S.H.I.E.L.D" He continued over to my brother and me as he continued, "No hard feelings Point Break. You've got a mean swing"

He then lightly slapped Thor on the shoulder twice and I couldn't help but laugh at Thor's confused and shocked face. He then walked over to me and flicked my plait behind my head from my shoulder as he walked past, "Haven't really seem you in action Everdeen, finally someone who I'm not forced to apologise to" It felt as though the last part was directed at Agent Coulson seeing as they were now staring at each other.

"Also, it means the portal can open as wide and stay open as long as Loki wants. Raise the mizzenmast. Job the topsails" I snorted when the people he was giving instructions did nothing and just gave him odd looks

As he continued talking I stretched up onto my tiptoes to whisper to Thor, "Loki has Selvig, that is clearly a way of getting to you brother. What if he decided or plans to make good on his threat he made in the observatory that day?"

Oh for Odin's sake, Thor really couldn't connect the dots could he? So after about thirty seconds of confusion his face finally hardened in realisation. When we listened back into what was happening in the room Captain Rogers was looking extremely confused and asked, "Is that what just happened?"

Mr. Stark began praising the man in purples work on anti-electron collisions and then proceeded to mention something about a huge rage monster. It was at this moment I realised how desperately I needed to read up on everyone in the room.

"Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him" Oh no, guy with an eye patch alert. Don't get me wrong, nothing against people with eye patches or anything, but the only guy I've ever known to wear one is the biggest dickhead you could possibly imagine so it's a slight red flag for me.

"My sister" Thor stated and then pushed me slightly so that I stumbled forwards, what the hell was he doing? He continued, "She is something of a genius on Asgard and I am sure her services would be a great help to you and your people" I'm sorry? Okay time to panic, what the hell was he doing?!

First off, guy with an eye patch is still here. Second, genius? Why say that, I'm more of an intellectual than anything, similar to but definitely not that of a genius, and third, still the eye patch!

All of these thoughts were racing around in my head colliding off one another and I found that I couldn't say anything and simply looked up to Thor with a look of horror on my face and he simply chuckled, "You do not think that I notice your visits to Eir sister? Even you could not be injured that much"

"Fine" I mumbled back, in truth Loki's sceptre did look awfully complex and simply amazing, not to sound like a maniac but if I could see how it worked, perhaps I could create a replica. Or some such thing, maybe not exact but who knows when you may need one.

"I would start with that stick of his, it may be magical but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon" Magical? Yes of corse it was magical, but the way in which the captain phrased this, he made it sound like the sceptre was something beyond the nine realms. Well yes, in truth it was but still, these people were talking as if science could not touch it.

"I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube, and I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys" Flying monkeys? Why must this planet be so confusing. "Monkeys? I do not understand"

That was the difference between me and my brother I thought to myself, when I did not understand something I kept it to myself in my head, but my brother, well Thor was just stupid out loud. "I do!" The captain shouted clearly getting carried away, "I-I understood that reference"

"Kiddo, babysitting time, shall we play doctor?" Stark asked the man in purple while using a hand to signal me over. "This way Sir" the other man replied and Thor gently pushed me forwards, reluctantly I left my brother and followed after these two men while muttering a string of curses aimed at my brother.
