When we arrived at the lab I noticed it was nothing like anything back on Asgard, that was problem one. Problem two, the midguardians have changed absolutely every word about science, for example something as simple as a soul forge is called a quantum field generator here. Problem three, armour is very uncomfortable.

Easy solution to problem three though, I hopped up on edge of the table to where Loki's sceptre was and conjured myself some midguardian style sweat pants and jumper and chose to ignore the two men's shocked faces that came my way until it felt as if their glares were burning holes in the top of my head. "What? You don't do that here?" Their silence was enough of a reply to know that they definitely didn't.

So as Dr. Banner, the man in purple, was taking readings and as Mr. Stark was making calculations in the corner, I was sitting crossed legged in what looked to be Midgardian pyjamas reading through 'A-Z: PhD science phrases, equipment and measurements'

It was quite useful, of corse everything in the book I already knew it was just the different terms for things that was the tricky part. "The gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig's reports on the Tesseract, but it's gonna take weeks to process"

"We don't have weeks though do we?" I asked the room, I was annoyed, yes, but not at Dr. Banner or even Mr. Stark for once, it was just this would be incredibly slow and I am not a very patient person

"If we bypass their mainframe and direct route to the Homer cluster we can clock this at around..."

"600 teraflops" I finished off for him, finally that stupid book was starting pay off. Banner laughed and for a minute I panicked that I had got the reading entirely wrong but Banner spoke up, "All I packed was a toothbrush" Stark must have finished his calculations because then he spoke up, "Right on Everdeen, 600 teraflops"

Everdeen? I thought it best not to ask at this point, he then completely dismissed me and began talking to a Banner, "You know you should come by Stark tower sometime, Top ten floors, all R&D. You'd love it, it's candy land" He then picked up something from the bench to mine and Banner's right and I could tell he wasn't really listening, this only intrigued me more, I swivelled round so that I was now facing the centre of the table and no longer had my back to the two.

"Thanks, but the last time I was in New York, I kind of broke Harlem" While Banner was talking, Stark smiled and winked at me, what the hell was he planning?

"Well, I promise a stress-free environment. No tension, no surprises" He then poked Banner in the side with what I now saw was an electrically charged metal prod, Banner shouted in pain and Stark went right up in Banner's face as if expecting something else to happen and I burst out laughing realising that he expected Banner to turn into the monster that he had referenced before.

Roger's shouted something but over my laughter I really couldn't hear what was going on. When my hysterical laughter stopped and was now simply loud chuckles I could hear Stark talking, surprise surprise.

"You really have got a lid on it haven't you. What's your secret? Mellow jazz, bongo drums, huge bag of weed?"

"Is everything a joke to you?" Rogers piped up from standing just behind me

"Funny things are"

"Threatening the safety of everyone in this ship isn't funny, no offence Doc"

"Well your the ones who invited one stupid and two demented Gods from 'outer space' onto your ship, you can't really talk"

"It's all right I wouldn't have come aboard if I couldn't pointy things. Wait did you say two demented?"

I simply chuckled back in reply to Banner's confused and scared face. "You tip-toeing, big man, you need to strut"

"And you need to focus on the problem Mr. Stark" Oh yay, more shouting and arguing heading my way, you know for a minute I was starting to get slightly home sick, yay for Rogers and Stark saving the day on that issue.

"Do you think I'm not? Why did Fury call us in? Why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables"

"You think Fury's hiding something" I laughed at that and then noticed everyone, but especially Rogers, staring at me, "What?! The dudes got an eye patch, really don't know about you but it's a big reminder of Odin" After some more awkward and confused stares I continued, "You know, Odin? Biggest bastard in all of the nine realms and shittiest Father in the history of Fathers, he has an eyepatch too, you really don't know who I'm on about?" I asked really quite surprised they didn't know who I was talking about.

"Well the kiddos got a point, Captain he's a spy, Captain he's the spy. His secrets have secrets, it's bugging him too, isn't it?" Stark said gesturing to Banner.

"Uh.... I just want to finish my work here, and...."

"That's a definite yes Captain" I sarcastically and loudly whisper shouted up to him making sure Stark and Banner could also hear, "Doctor?" The captain asked with a lot of authority in his tone.

Banner let out a deep sigh and took off his glasses, clearly afraid of saying the wrong thing, "'A warm light for all mankind' Loki's jab at Fury about the Cube" At Loki's name I stiffened, "I heard it" Rogers replied

"Well I think that was meant for you" Banner said pointing as Stark, "Even if Barton didn't tell Loki about the tower it was still all over the news"

"The Stark Tower? That big, ugly....building in New York" Ahh yes, nice save there Captain.

"It's powered by an Arc Reactor, self sustaining energy source, that building will run itself for what a year?"

"It's just the prototype, I'm kind of the only name in clean energy right now. That's what he's getting at" Stark directed the last part to Rogers and me, I doubt that Rogers would be completely following along if I wasn't too, needless to say I wasn't. I hadn't quite gotten to the part in the book about Midgardian electricity and all about how it works.

"Why didn't S.H.I.E.L.D bring him in on the Tesseract project? What are they doing in the energy business in the first place?" Banner asked

"Because they don't want ordinary people to know? No offence Mr. Stark" I added on the end and for once actually meaning it, I had taken quite a liking to Mr. Stark, "None taken kid, in fact I should probably look into that theory once my decryption programme finishes breaking into all of S.H.I.E.L.D's secure files" Breaking in? The Captain behind me stiffened, "I'm sorry did you say.."

"Jarvis has been running it since I hit the bridge, in a few hours I'll know ever dirty secret S.H.I.E.L.D has ever tried to hide, blueberry?" I swivelled back around and hopped off of the table and walked round the back of Rogers and over to Banner's side and whispered to him, "Apologies I can't keep up, who's Jarvis? I don't think I've met him yet"

Banner chuckled and smiled down at me, "Jarvis isn't a real person, it's Tony's personal AI" At that I was even more confused however, like I say if I'm being stupid I don't do it out loud so I played it off and nodded acting as if I understood what an AI was. When I listened back Stark was talking yet again.

"An intelligence organisation that fears intelligence? Historically, not awesome"

"I think Loki's trying to wind us up, this is a man who means to start a war. If we don't stay focused he'll succeed. We have orders, we should follow them"

"Why would you follow the orders from the very source of corruption? You value order and I respect that Captain, truly, but what good is orderliness when the very people giving you the commands intend to cause chaos?" The Captain didn't have a response to that but Odin forbid Stark didn't have the last word he pointed over to me and then continued from my point.

"And followings not really my style"

"And your all about style aren't you?"

"Out of the people in this room which one is, A, wearing a spangly outfit, and B not of use?"

"Steve, tell me none of this smells a little funky to you?" After Banner spoke up Rogers stormed out and told Stark to find the Cube as he continued walking. "Oooo, didn't get the last word there Stark" I taunted in a sing song voice.
