After around an hour of sleep I could not drift back off so I decided to change back into Asgardian clothing, this included a silver and black dress that stopped just above my ankles and two silver cuff armlets.
However on my third lap around the corridors is when I heard Fandral shouting. I decided to quietly and carefully open the door and slip through it.

"Our dearest friend banished, Loki on the throne, Asgard on the brink of war, yet you've managed to consume four wild boar, six pheasant, a side of beef and two casks of ale. Shame on you. Don't you care?"

"Is not mistake my appetite for apathy!"

"And is there a problem with that Fandral?" The warrior three and Sif looked at me clearly startled, "I did not think you one to care for Volstagg's appetite princess"

"Not that you half wit, I mean my brother on the throne. In your order of things wrong in your eyes you placed my brother on the throne before the fact that Asgard is on the brink of war. Why is it that Fandral?"

The complete silence in the room was enough of an answer for me. I slowly stepped forward, my footsteps ringing around the room, "Would you have question Odin's rule in such ways?" Yet again the only thing that could be heard was the ringing of my feet on the cold floor. "Your princess requires an answer, Fandral"

"No princess" He muttered, I took a long pause and stopped behind the large sofa directly in the centre of the room. "Good. Because I know for certain that in the beginning of my grandfather's reign those who questioned his rule were publicly executed" I couldn't help but smirk, yes it was the truth and yes it did happen but I couldn't help but enjoy taunting Fandral. I mean he was in the wrong but the four warriors who stood before me were taking this far too seriously.

Volstagg spoke up, "Is that a threat princess?" By the Gods he sounded just like Thor. For a minute I began to wonder if Thor had finally learnt how to cast illusions and that it was actually Volstagg who was stuck on Midgard. Instead of reacting I smiled sweetly at him. "Perhaps" Fandral and Volstagg looked at me both with identical expressions of horror. Clearly they did not expect that.

"Stop it, all of you!" Sif yelled, if this was anyone else it would have made the situation a whole lot worse, but like I say, it was Sif, and I admired her so I kept on that lovely sweet smile on for three seconds too long which seemed to do the trick of unsettling everyone a little more.

"We all know what we have to do."

"We must go, we must find Thor" Hogun told us, out of the warriors three he was always the calm and calculating one so him saying this was truly shocking. Fandral however reminded him, "It's treason"

"To hell with treason, it's suicide"

"Thor would do the same for us"

"Would he Sif? Fandral, when you had just been stabbed on Jotunheim did Thor do anything to help you? Did he fall back? Did he even acknowledge that you were injured?"

"He was simply caught up in the battle.." I decided to cut Fandral off there, "Do not make excuses for him, because no matter how much you tell yourself that, you know that it is not true" I seethed out. Then rather smugly I told them, "Even if you wanted to go you could not"

Much to my surprise Volstagg was the first to catch onto what I meant, "Now shush. Heimdall might be watching" I turned around to face the door, Volstagg could hardly finish what he was saying before the doors opened and a guard stood in the centre, "Heimdall demands your presence"

I turned back around to face the four warriors before me who all looked terrified, I laughed a humourless laugh, "Now you've done it"

"We're doomed" With that I walked out and continued my lap of the palace, that was until I decided to go down to Odin's vault. Back to where it all started, as I entered the room I let out a deep sigh, I walked up to left corner of the room and sat down hugging my knees to my chest. The day my Father took us down here for the first time, the way I clung to Loki's side, the way I had made fun of Thor even back then.

For the first time in years I allowed myself cry. I did not admit it to myself when I was with Sif and the warriors three but I missed Thor, I felt awful for him still on Midgard. Atleast he would be coming home soon. Then there was Loki, something still felt off, perhaps it was just a silly gut feeling.

A familiar choking feeling formed itself in my throat, I was breathing fine but it felt like I couldn't. The room was perfectly still yet it felt like it was crashing all around me. When I was small and something had happened the previous day I would dream that I went a visited a woman.

She was tall and had black hair just like mine, she was like a mother figure to me or an older sister. She used to ask me how my day had been and I would tell her everything that had happened, whether that be me and Loki pranking Thor or Father being over the top controlling while she plaited my hair. It was always dark and gloomy around us, yet somehow the emptiness of it all felt comfortable. It was safe. It was too empty for anything to be hiding there, the complete feeling of nothingness was comforting.

There was only me and her there then, but now it was only me. Only me in the quietest room in the palace. I plaited my hair and spoke aloud. "Hey sis, long time no see. I suppose your still just in my imagination but right now I need you" My fingers wove themselves through my hair pulling the strands and wrapping them around one another. I closed my eyes and imagined the woman standing before me.

"If you can't already see, everything went wrong. Thor's gone, Loki's possibly gone quite mad, Father's almost dead, Mother's well, being mother, not leaving his bedside as if he deserves such an honour." My fingers found a tangle in my hair and began working on unknotting it.

"I don't know what to do, it's just like when I used to come to you, I'm weak and can't help anything. The only person who mattered isn't himself anymore" I let out a huge sob at that, finally saying it out loud struck a nerve with me.

My fingers had now unknotted the tangle and continued braiding the three sections of hair. "I wish I could tell Mother, I truly do, but she would never believe me over her favourite child would she? What would you do?" I had finished plaiting my hair now and wrapped the last few strands of hair to tie it in place and opened my eyes.

For some reason I had expected an answer. I scoffed and buried myself in the corner of the room yet again, tears cascaded down my cheeks in a never ending current. I continued to run my fingers over my plait, tracing each sections journey from the top of my scalp all the way down and past my shoulder.
