Chapter Twenty Five: Let's go away.

"I need you in my life, Luke, please, I can't lose you"

"You just said you don't wanna be with me any more? Make your mind up!" Luke shouted,

"I don't want to be with you! I need to be with you, I have to be with you, every time I'm away from you it's like, I dunno it's like my heart shatters, I feel, so fucking empty without you, Luke!" Ashton yelled back, Luke didn't know how to react, he just stood there and stared into Ashton's eyes, Luke had seen a lot of Ashton's emotions in the past few months, he knew the look in Ashton's eyes when he was angry, frustrated, upset, he knew the look in Ashton's eyes when he was happy, when he was interested, he also knew the look of sadness and sorrow in his eyes, he'd only ever seen it once or twice, but he knew that this was the look he was seeing right now, he could tell all that, just by his eyes. Ashton looked at the floor and let go of Luke's hands, "Just, just so empty.." he said quietly, Luke hugged him, he didn't know what else to do.

"Hug me back, stupid" Luke laughed a little, Ashton placed his hands lazily on the bottom of Luke's back, and put his head on his shoulder.

"I need you, in my life, Luke, I really do.." Ashton said,

"I need you in mine too, Ash" Luke reassured, Ashton pulled out of the hug and kissed Luke quickly,

"What day is it today?" Ashton asked,

"Uh, Saturday?"

"Come away with me? Your classes are cancelled Monday" Ashton said with a grin,

"Are you serious?" Luke asked, Ashton nodded and then smiled, "Sure, where are we going?"

"Surprise" Ashton grinned again, "Go home, pack, tell your mum, I'll pick you up at five"

"But, it's three now, I'm at least an hour away from home and, I can't pack and shower in an hour" Luke argued, Ashton rolled his eyes and lifted an eyebrow at him, "Fine, fine I'll go, I'll see you later" he kissed Ashton lightly and headed back down the road,

"Uh Luke?" Ashton called,

"Do you want me to be on time or what?" Luke called back now walking backwards,

"You need to go, that way" Ashton laughed pointing in the opposite direction,

"I totally knew that" Luke said as he wandered slowly up the road, "See you in an hour" he laughed, Ashton waved and waited till Luke had turned the corner before going back inside.

"Mum, I'm home!" Luke called, he walked through the house and into the garden where he found his mother gardening, "What, are you doing?" he laughed,

"Gardening, it's nice out"

"You don't garden"

"I can start" she said defensively, "How'd it go?"

"He wants me to go away with him for the weekend"

"The weekend?"

"Yeah, that's what I just said?" Luke smirked, he walked back inside and Liz followed him,

"Where?"

"I don't know he said it's a surprise" she followed him up the stairs still asking questions,

"Is it far away?"

"I don't know"

"What are you doing now?"

"Packing, what does it look like?"

"Why are you packing?" she asked taking things out of his bag as he was putting them in,

"So I can go away for the weekend with my boyfriend?" Luke said not realising she was taking things out,

"Boyfriend?"

"Well yeah that's what Ashton is, he's, my boyfriend" Luke said with a sudden smile, he'd never really called him that before, "Mum! Will you stop taking stuff out my bag? Just, just leave" He huffed,

"I don't want you to go away, what if he murders you?"

"Don't you think if he was gonna murder me he would've already?" he laughed, he loved how overprotective she was,

"Well yeah, but...No just, you're not going"

"Yes I am"

"Don't argue with me? I'm your mother" Liz said trying to be stern, she was never going to keep him from going, she just wanted him to know she cared,

"Mum, please?" Luke asked, she nodded and stood on tiptoes to kiss his forehead,

"Best get packing, you haven't even put anything in your bag yet" she winked running out the room, Luke threw a jumper at the door after her and laughed,

"Cheers, you're so helpful!"

"I'm your mother, I'm not supposed to be helpful!" she laughed.

After about an hour, the doorbell rang, Luke ran down the stairs again and jumped the steps as usual, leaving little black scuff marks on the floor, "I got it!" Luke shouted, he pulled the door open and was greeted to Ashton's beautiful smile, Luke grabbed his face and kissed him not letting him go till he was done.

"Wow, that was, I liked that, I give you permission to do that more often" Ashton smiled, "Ready to go?"

"Oh two seconds let me run up and grab my case" Ashton nodded as Luke ran up the stairs, he walked through to the kitchen and spotted Liz,

"Hey Liz" he said, she looked up and glared at him, he was a little taken back by it so he just put his head down, looked at the floor, and fiddled with his keys,

"Afternoon" she said stubbornly,

"I'll just, wait for Luke at the front door" Ashton mumbled turning out of the room,

"Thank you" Liz called,

"Sure" he said back,

"No, thank you" he was confused so turned to look at her,

"What for?" he asked,

"Making my son happy" she smiled, a smile formed on Ashton's lips,

"You don't need to thank me for that, I live to make him happy" he turned around and Luke was stood directly behind him, "Holy fucking shit, crap, you scared the hell out of me!" Ashton jumped,

"Sorry baby" Luke mumbled through a kiss on Ashton's lips,

"Ready to go?" Ashton asked taking Luke's case from him, Luke nodded and let Ashton past, he waved to his mum and left with his boyfriend, and a smile on his face.
