There was a knock on my door and I ran quickly downstairs. I opened the door and saw Daniel standing there, hands on the handles of his backpacks.
"Hey", he said in an angry tone.
I swallowed and goosebumps covered my body, "um...hi".
"Let's just start working on the project", he said and walked into my house. He started to take of his shoes and place them neatly by the door.

I led him upstairs to my room and opened it. His eyes went wide as he saw band posters covering the walls. Daniel walked in and threw his backpack on the ground.

"I'm not trying to sound obnoxious...but are you oka-"
"No I'm not okay, it's none of your business." He cut me off with a mean look on his face.
"O-okay." I swallowed hard and sat down.

We worked on the project for a couple of hours. The whole entire time we probably said ten words to each other. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. What was wrong with him? It was probably that fight earlier with his dad.
"I saw you...outside. Fighting with your dad." I closed my eyes for a second, regaining my memory.
"You, you what?" He asked, his green eyes piercing my soul.
"You were yelling, both of you. He...he took something from you." I said and looked down.
He balled his fists and got up, "that's none of your business. Stop getting into other people's lives".
I was trying to hold back tears, I was ready to punch him. Why is he doing this to me?
"Get out." I said and shook my head. "Just get out." I pointed my hand out the door.
He looked at me, his face frozen.
"Fine", he picked up his backpack and got out of the house, slamming the door on his way out. I could see him running back home.
...............

School was awkward the next week, sitting next to him. I glanced at him once in a while, but nothing. No words, no conversation. I got out sticky notes and a pen and started writing down:
Hey, are you mad at me? -J
I passed him the note and he looked down, opening it. He got out a pen and wrote things down. He wrote for a while, finally passing back the note.
No, meet me after school okay? I need to tell you something. -D
As I read the note, I could feel my cheeks getting hot. What the heck?

After school I could see him running over to me. Why is he always running? He grabbed my arm and led me behind the school into the forest.
"Ok, I'll tell you what happened." He pulled the same charm out of his pocket and showed it to me. It was a wolf. The wolfs eye has a green gem on it, it reminded me of Daniels eyes.
"See this?" He said as he showed me the charm. "It's me."
I looked at him, wondering what he was talking about.
"What?" I said and shook my head.
"Whenever I have this charm with me..." He paused for a second, "I, am this. I am...a werewolf. That's why I have all these mood swings, it depends on the moon phase. I also have something else to tell you."
I stared at him shocked, covering my mouth.
"I have imprinted on you. I can't...I can't stay away from you."
I was so shocked. All of these things hit me all at once. I was speechless. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing would come out.
"You have to promise me one thing, not to tell...anyone."
I nodded my head and started chewing on my finger nails.
"Good...good." He paced back and forth shaking his head.
"I wasn't even supposed to tell you, just go, go now!" He threw his arms up. I started running and I looked back, only to see him changing. Changing into a wolf.
