Charm

Chapter 11

Fear raced through my body as I heard those words. He gestured his hand telling me to go to another room. I shook my head and widened my eyes.
"Go", He whispered sternly.
I continued to shake his head and he eventually gave up, rolling his eyes.
"You really have a death wish, do you?", he whispered and crossed his arms.
"What do we do?" I asked, my body shaking.
He stood there thinking for a moment, a minute or two later his head struck up.
"I've got it," he ran quietly into the kitchen and opened the fridge.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Just trust me", I nodded my head and waited until he came back.

He was holding a necklace with garlic covering it. I covered my nose as the scent hit me. Daniel grabbed the necklace and wrapped it around the door handle.
"Marco run!" I could faintly hear a vampire screeching outside the tree.
We stood there for a moment, waiting until they left. After about ten minutes, there was silence.
"They are gone", a bead of sweat was rolling down Daniels face.
"We are safe now, right?" I asked turning my head to look at him. No response.
"Right?" I said a bit louder this time.
"They know our hiding spot now", he clenched his fists and jaw, pacing back and forth. He suddenly ran over to me, putting his hands on my shoulders, his eyes were piercing my soul.

"Listen, you can't be with me anymore", he clenched his jaw and looked away, "You will die if you are with me. They will find you and they will kill you. I can't let anything happen to you".
"N-no...", I shook my head, my eyes were being filled with tears.
"My father and I will have to move again, we will have to move far away from here. It will be better for you. Of course I will suffer not being with you, but I have to keep you alive Jesse."
My heart dropped and I couldn't breathe. All happiness escaped my body, instead filled with sadness.
"I'm so s-sorry", his eyes were filling with tears too.
I hugged him so tight that a breath escaped his body. Tears were starting to burst out of my eyes and I was sobbing.

We stood there, crying in pain, before he let go, "Hey, Jesse, if everything goes well, I'll come back. I promise. I also promise that I will write emails and letters everyday."
I nodded my head and wiped my tears. I couldn't believe he was leaving my life. After all this time, I felt like he was a part of me.
"Here, let me take you home", he put me on his back, once again running to my house as a wolf.

He dropped me off at my window and I gave him one last hug, before he was gone.
