Chapter 14

When I woke up, I noticed my cheeks were hot and wet. I totally forgot about the conversation I had with Daniel. As I observed my pillow, I could see that they were stained with my tears.

I slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. There were dark bags under my eyes and little red veins spread out through them. I looked exhausted.

As I walked into class, Marco was sitting next to my seat...again. I tightened my jaw and sat down. He looked over to me and his eyes widen.
"You look like you just awoke from the dead" he whispered and laughed.
"Just shut up" I growled and rolled my eyes.
He back his hands away like he was getting arrested and nodded his head "okay".

The last bell rang and I practically ran out of class. I couldn't have been happier to leave this place. When I was walking out, there were footsteps running behind me.
"Wait!" Marco yelled and ran after me.
I quickly turned around and crossed my arms, "What do you want?"
"I uh, just wanted to say bye..." He replied awkwardly.
"Well, bye." I said harshly and started walking away.
"Wait." The word slipped out of his mouth.
I rolled my eyes again once more and turned back, "What."
"Can...I have your number?"
I stood there for a moment shocked. Why does he need my number?
"Why?" I did not mean for those words to come out.
"Why not?" He replied.
"Fine."

I plopped down on my bed and spread my arms wide. I stared up into the full grey ceiling and sighed. Crazy things happened. Heat rushed into my body as the sound of Daniels voice filled my mind. Tears slid down my face leaving hot trails along my cheeks. I sniffled and sat up on my bed and leaned my chin on my fist.

My phone buzzed and I got a text, from Marco.

Marco: Hey hey hey
Jesse: Hi
Marco: Whats the matter?
Jesse: None of your business.
Marco: No need to be harsh (:

I put my hands in my pocket and I felt something small and hard. Hopefully it wasn't old leftover candy. I took it out and my whole entire heart dropped. Everything around me was echoing and I couldn't hear myself breathe.
It was the charm.
