When I did get outside Simon was in his armour laying on the grass. I smiled and sat down next to him. I brought my knees up to my chin and wrapped my arms around them.

"So Sim-on, where are we going?" I inquired with a silvery voice.

"Well we need obsidian for this, so down to the mines!" Simon cheered.

"Obsidian?" I asked a bit too sarcastically.

Simon sat up and knocked on my helmet, "we're going to the Nether, duh Jame."

I rolled my eyes, but I smiled too. I stood up and helped Simon up. I looked around at our surroundings. We were in a clearing in the middle of a forest, and I didn't see any path towards a mine or well- anything! But I did take in the scenery around me. It was truly beautiful. There were bundles of flowers in some places colored red, pink, purple, yellow, and orange. There were pigs and sheep that ran around and muched on the long green pieces of grass. The sun was starting to go down and the sky was starting to turn a beautiful mix of colors with blue, pink, and purple. I didn't want to be out during the night, but I wasn't as scared when I had Simon beside me . It was kind of weird though. Everything I was seeing was made up of blocks with the exception of my backpack, and Simon.

"So where's the mines?" I asked.

"Dunno," Simon answered.

"What do you mean 'I don't know' Sim-on?" I imitated Simon and used air quotes.

"Oh be quiet, and we'll just look for one then."

"That's boring!"

"Huh, that's funny. You sound just like my sister did."

I expected to see him upset looking but when I peered up at him he was smiling towards me. I smiled back and replied, "Thanks."

"So how's your family back home? You said you're from Brighton. How is it there?"

"Oh it's fine. I have a mom and a dad back home, they went on a cruise over the summer and didn't bring me. For some reason? I dunno why though."

"And now you're here."

"Yeah, it's like fate huh?"

I laughed, but Simon seemed to be deep in thought. As if he actually seemed to think we were brought together by fate. I didn't really believe in all of that stuff. We kept walking mostly in silence, we talked in small conversations every once in a while before it slipped back into a comfortable silence. We joked a bit about the incident and other random things, and we also talked about what we'd do in the Nether. We also came to the conversation about how we leave.

"We defeat the Ender Dragon," Simon replied hoarsley.

"Wait, you need eye of ender's for an end portal. Those require blaze rods which are found in the Nether. If your sister had some then how come you don't have a portal?" I inquired.

"Well after she died I got a bit mad. I recked the place to be honest. I broke the Nether portal into pieces and threw them into lava, everything was a mess."

"What calmed you down?"

"Another player entered the game."

Me? Please be me, it'd be sad if someone came and then left him.

"Who?"

"You, you bug dumb! After I saved you- heroically may I add- I cleaned up the place, I just suddenly calmed down. I dunno."

"I guess in a way saved you."

"Okay. No chick flick moments please. Anyways, I found a cave."

Simon pointed to my left and I glanced over to see in fact- a cave! We walked over to the cave and started to go down. Simon held a torch out in front of him and placed a torch every few feet or so, so that we would easily be able to find our way back up. We'd be in here a while.

We had been mining for hours. We had a fair amount of iron, gold, red stone, coal, emeralds, and lapiz, but still no diamonds. We had already found lava and poured water on it, which turned it into obsidian. I was currently maneuvering around lava at level 11, and Simon was searching through a tunnel that we didn't get to go through yet. Suddenly I saw Simon near the corner from the tunnel he was just exploring. He had a creeper on his tail. Ha, that's ironic. Oh wait...

"It's a triple headed creeper!" I shrieked.

"Okay great now help!" Simon shouted.

"Coming Sim-on!"

I ran over my cobblestone path that kept me above the lava and towards Simon and the three creepers. I pulled out my iron sword. Simon peered over his shoulder and shrieked. He tripped over a block of stone and went crashing towards the floor.

"Sim-on no!"

I ran towards the first creeper and stuck the sword through it's body. I slipped it out, but before I could attack again. The creeper exploded.
