It was the day before the cookout and I hadn't seen or heard from Tyson, granted I could've easily had called and checked on him but we were beefin at the moment so I wasn't going to make the first move and I knew his stubborn ass wouldn't make the first move either, so we were at a standstill. While I understood his reasoning for not calling me, I was really annoyed by the fact that he was ignoring Ala'Ven.... the fact that my son walked up to me and asked 'is dad mad at me' had me ready to hop in my car and go looking for Tyson because that shyt was foul. Thankfully Ty'Ree managed to ease Ala'Ven's concerns and tell him that Tyson needed a few days to calm down and that it had nothing to do with him; Ty'Ree was tempted to show up at Tyson's job but I convinced him not to do that... that would just make shyt worse and of course, I would be the one who got blamed for it. To keep myself busy I focused everything on this cookout, going out of my way to make sure that there wasn't any issues or drama and that everyone had a good time; honestly, I couldn't wait to start cooking and Ty'Ree's ass was starting to grow impatient because he was ready to have some fun and 'fuck bitches'.... I just wanted tomorrow to be perfect but there was something in my spirit.......

"DAAAAADDDD THE DOOOOOR!!!!" Ala'Ven yelled and I counted to ten before walking into the living room where Ala'Ven and Ty'Ree were playing the game, even though I told him about that shyt and he had a whole game room upstairs. "Ayy you told me there were certain people I wasn't allowed to open the door for and it's one of those people." Ala'Ven said and without looking up and I braced myself for one of five people I had barred from this house.

"MOVE I GOTTA USE THE BATHROOM!!!!" Tiana said pushing her way past me and rushing into the house.... Why? Why? Why was I cursed with her? Izayah, Iran, and Jackson followed in behind her and I was really surprised because as far as I knew Zay and Jackson weren't supposed to be here until tomorrow and I wasn't supposed to see Tiana until the next family gathering.

"Dalisa wanted all the kids so we caught an earlier flight...." Zay said reading my face as Iran and Jackson began arguing over who got next on the game, Zay led me to the backyard and we sat by the pool... it was crazy that we were just out here a few weeks ago and now here we were again. "So how are things with Tyson?"

"Worse than we last discussed... it's way deeper than anything I could've imagined, he hasn't even been home, he's staying at a hotel and duckin my calls... let me not even lie, I haven't even bothered trying to call him." I confessed and Izayah pulled out a blunt.

"What do you think the issue is? Communication, cheating, horniness.... it's gotta be something. Every issue in a relationship starts from one seed that blooms into a tree of problems that eventually that tree gets struck by a lightning bolt, that causes the tree to come crashing down on the foundation y'all have built since y'all were pre-teens." Izayah said.

"Wait so what's the lightning bolt?" I asked sorta getting his analogy but still kinda confused.

"Real shyt bro, it could be anything; a sock on the floor, an ignored text, a nigga that's probably dickin down Tyson as we speak.... take your pick." Izayah said and I couldn't tell if he was trying to help or intentionally making the situation worse. "Sev, you told me this nigga Tyson is constantly on the phone with this nigga, smiling whenever dude calls, going into other rooms.... if he's not cheating physically, he's definitely fantasizing about it and eventually, fantasy becomes reality."

"So what do you suggest? I pull up on dude, beat his ass, and risk getting arrested, ruining my career, and causing more damage to my marriage?" I asked starting to get pissed at the idea of Tyson with another nigga.

"I'll talk to him...." Ty'Ree said from behind us. "You know my brother can be a little bougie, sometimes he needs a little real talk from his brother.... I just need to know which hotel he's staying at. Never mind, Tyson is only staying at the best hotel in the city, give me a couple of hours...." Ty'Ree said before I could interject because I wasn't sure how Ty'Ree would talk to him.
